About this extension
EarDub is a YouTube dubbing extension for Firefox: an AI dubbing tool that translates and auto dubs foreign-language videos into your language in real time, with a natural AI voice-over. Install it, pick your language, and click the EarDub icon or the dub button at the bottom right of the video: the dub starts right away, so you can follow any foreign video with ease.

EarDub reads the video's captions, or the audio the player has already buffered when there are none, and translates with AI that follows the context: the title, the topic and the scene. Lines sound natural instead of machine-made, and the dub plays in step with the original sound. Nothing to upload or download, no waiting for the whole video: you hear the first lines within seconds. Listening is easier than following a video by reading subtitles.
  • ★ 75 languages and 300+ AI voices, with regional accents
  • ★ Works without captions: on YouTube and most sites where EarDub can read the video's sound
  • ★ Built for courses: on Udemy and Coursera, EarDub moves on to the next lecture by itself
  • ★ Translated by meaning: in a business talk, "they'll eat your lunch" becomes "they'll take your customers", not a line about food
  • ★ Free plan: 30 minutes a day

How It Works
1. Open a video and click the EarDub button in the player (or press Shift+D).
2. Pick your language and voice.
3. Press play. Pause, skip ahead or go back, and the dub follows.

Features
- Real-time dubbing: each line starts when the speaker starts; fast speech is sped up 1.45x at most.
- AI translation that keeps the thread: whole sentences, with names and terms kept the same throughout.
- Videos with captions: YouTube, Udemy, Coursera, Bilibili and other sites, on every plan. Auto-generated captions work too.
- Videos without captions: speech recognition on paid plans.
- Voices: male and female, with accents such as Indian or Irish English, Mexican or Argentine Spanish, Gulf or Levantine Arabic. Switch mid-video.
- Separate volume for the original sound and the dub.
- Bilingual subtitles: show, resize or hide them.

Languages
English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Russian, Ukrainian, Polish, Turkish, Arabic, Persian, Hindi, Bengali, Urdu, Tamil, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Thai, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Cantonese and more: 75 in total. The original can be in any language.

Good For
- Coding and AI tutorials: keep your eyes on the code and the demo, and hear the explanation
- Trading and investing courses: stock, forex and crypto lessons and market analysis, with your eyes on the chart, not the subtitles
- Online courses and lectures: Udemy, Coursera and university classes, dubbed lecture after lecture
- Game guides and pro coaching: watch every move while the commentary plays in your language
- Podcasts and long interviews: hours of conversation to listen to, even while you cook or commute

Plans
- Free: 30 minutes a day (180 a month), up to 3 videos a day of up to 60 minutes each, with captions. No credit card.
- Basic: $9.99/month or $83/year. 60 hours a month, up to 3 hours per video, captions not required.
- Pro: $19.99/month or $155/year. No time limit, captions not required.

FAQ
Does it work on my phone?
EarDub runs in Firefox on the desktop (version 140 or newer) and in Firefox for Android (version 142 or newer). iPhone and iPad aren't supported.

What can't it dub?
Copy-protected video (such as Netflix), live streams and some embedded players. All speakers share the one voice you pick.

How accurate is the translation?
It depends on the audio, the language pair and the topic. Turn on bilingual subtitles to check a line against the original.

Privacy
EarDub runs only when you click it: on YouTube by default, and on other sites after you allow them. Subtitles and the video title (or short pieces of audio when there are no subtitles) go to EarDub's servers for translation and speech. Audio isn't stored.

EarDub is independent and not affiliated with Google or YouTube.
