About this extension
BriefFeed is a desktop Firefox reading assistant that helps you understand loaded content without losing the original source. It places compact AI summaries beside supported social posts, discussions, articles, project pages, podcast Show Notes, and available current-video transcript, subtitle, timeline, or chapter text.
Explore all features, real examples, and the demo video: https://brieffeed.app
Save worthwhile sources to a local bookmark library, then create a source-linked AI Insights brief when you choose. BriefFeed summarizes only supported content already loaded in the browser. It does not auto-scroll or paginate feeds, read cookies or passwords, collect private messages, or call social-feed APIs to obtain more posts.
Find something you read
Search saved items or recent supported content by words you remember. Results show their saved status, and you can bookmark a source directly from the results. Browsing history contains only bounded content encountered by BriefFeed on supported pages during your selected retention period; it is not your browser’s full browsing history.
Return to your reading workspace
Open Reading workspace from the extension menu to search your reading, revisit saved sources and authors, and create source-linked AI Insights. Author portraits and biographies appear when available. AI Insights analyzes supported content loaded today only when you ask.
Continue across devices
Connect a compatible BriefFeed Mac app to sync saved items. Optional browsing-history sync is off by default; when enabled, retained reading content can continue through the Mac app and your iCloud account to your Apple devices.
Supported surfaces include X/Twitter, Bluesky, Jike, Weibo, Reddit, V2EX, Hacker News, Lobsters, GitHub, Product Hunt, YouTube, Bilibili, WeChat Official Accounts, Substack, Medium, WordPress, DEV Community, arXiv, OpenReview, Apple Podcasts, Xiaoyuzhou, and optional opened Xiaohongshu note details. Named supported sites use required access; supported custom article domains ask for exact-site access when you enable them.
Optional Notion and NotebookLM exports are initiated or enabled by the user and go directly from Firefox to the chosen service. BriefFeed is free to use.
Firefox also offers a separate, default-off option to open Reading workspace in native new tabs. You can turn it off at any time; private tabs, blank pages, and other extensions’ new-tab pages are excluded.
