About this extension
Bookmark Sync keeps one bookmark tree across Chrome, Edge, and Firefox. Sign in with the same account in each browser and your bookmarks, folders, and ordering stay identical everywhere—no export/import files, no self-hosted server, and end-to-end encryption on by default.
Your browser's built-in sync only covers its own vendor. Bookmark Sync is the bridge between them: organize on Chrome at the office, open Firefox at home, and everything is already there.
WHY PEOPLE SWITCH TO IT
· Cross-browser by design: Two-way sync of bookmarks and folders between Chrome / Edge / Firefox. Add, rename, move, or reorder on one device and the others follow.
· True tree sync, not flattened paths: Folders keep their real hierarchy and order. Renaming or moving a folder never orphans its children, and the order you arrange is the order you get on every device.
· End-to-end encryption, on by default: Every change is encrypted on your device with AES-256-GCM before it leaves. The server stores ciphertext only, so neither we nor anyone else can read your bookmarks. One sync passphrase unlocks a new device—no long key to memorize.
· Merges instead of overwriting: Add, rename, move, or delete on two devices at once—both sides' additions are kept and neither device blindly overwrites the other. Offline changes merge once you are back online. A genuine conflict on the same item converges deterministically, so it never flips back and forth.
· Deletions that stay deleted: Removals propagate as tombstones, so a bookmark you deleted on your laptop will not reappear from stale data on your desktop.
· Spaces to separate work and life: Each space is an independent bookmark tree that never mixes (1 on Free, 3 on Plus, 10 on Pro).
· Device control: Every browser that syncs is listed; rename or unbind any of them whenever you want.

FAQ
Q: Do I need an account?
A: Yes. Register with an email and password, then set a sync passphrase to start syncing.
Q: Which browsers are supported?
A: Chrome, Edge, and Firefox (Manifest V3). Safari does not expose a bookmarks API, so it is not supported.
Q: Can I use it for free?
A: Yes—500 bookmarks forever, with the same sync features as paid plans.
Q: How do I restore my bookmarks on a new device?
A: Install the extension, sign in with the same account, and enter the same sync passphrase. Your full bookmark tree is pulled automatically.
Q: What happens if two devices change the same bookmark?
A: They are merged automatically—additions from both devices are kept, and nothing is lost to a blind overwrite. If both devices move or rename the exact same item, every device converges to the same result.
Q: What if I forget my sync passphrase?
A: The passphrase derives your key locally and is never uploaded—it is the only thing that can decrypt your data. If you lose it, the ciphertext in the cloud cannot be recovered, so keep it in a password manager.
Q: Is my data safe?
A: Everything is encrypted on your device before upload. The server only ever holds ciphertext, so even a leak would not expose your bookmarks.
