Provider for Google Calendar

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Great extension. I use it to synchronize 8 calendars on two different Google accounts. However I have experienced one issue recently. On one Google account, I have added a read-only calendar and used a Google function which is to add a default alarm to all these events. With that, all events on this read-only calendar have a 3-hour alarm.
Both on Google Calendar itself and on my phone (using Business Agenda on Android), I can dismiss those alarms without problems. However, on Thunderbird, I can't. Is there a solution?
Right now, I made a work-around: I imported twice the same calendar in Google and have set alarms on only one of these. I use the one with alarms on my phone and the one without on Thunderbird. Not the most elegant solution.

BTW, I have Thunderbird 53B1 with integrated Lightning on Windows and Provider... v. 3.3.

It worked well until you reached 1.0.1.
I upgraded from 0.32 straight to 1.01 then to 1.02. With 1.01, I *think* I had lost a few old appointments, but it worked generally OK. Then this morning, with 1.02, I couldn't see any appointments in my main calendar. I newer appointment I added afterwards was OK, though. Interestingly, my second calendar was working perfectly.

It looks as if (for the main agenda), it was following the same fetching patterns that I see on my phone: only the latest changes are fetched to save on communication charges.

I decided to unsubscribe and re-subscribe to my main agenda as if it were a new one.
I click on "Suscribe to... Google Agenda"; then I click to "Next"; then I see the window "Select the agenda"
But that window is blank: no content whatsoever in it, so I can't go any further.

Anyway, I removed the latest versions, went back to Lightning 3.3 / Google Provider 0.32 and I'm back in business.

System info: Thunderbird 31.2.0 / Lightning 3.3 / Google Provider 0.32; all in French
Windows 7 Professional 64bits French
Google account (and therefore Google Calendar) in French.

translator

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Great extension, and with current version of browser and extension, I like the fact it respects fairly well the presentation of the original page.

I am using it on Windows 7 French with Firefox 27 French, typically asking for translations to English (Google usually does a better job than if I ask for translations to French). I see a very minor problem with the dialog box that appears. It says (all in French):

Traduire la page
Du : auto-détection
En : anglais

( ) Le faire
automatiquement

Annuler Traduire.

The top is OK, although I would prefer to replace "En" by "Vers" (litterally "toward" or "to"). But the problem comes with the checkmark and its description "Le faire automatiquement" (do it automatically). That description takes two lines and is double-spaced, with the result that the lower third of the buttons are chopped off by the dialog box.

Would it be possible to either:
– widen the translation box so "Le faire automatiquement (do it automatically)" would appear on one line, or
– increase the height of the translation box so buttons are not cut.

Thanks.
