Nice work cleaning up the Manager layout.
Add-on plays nice with Is It Compatible, which in minimal mode has a nice column displaying the version range of the extension.
Since the functionality has been integrated into the browser, this extension is no longer necessary if you're running Firefox 4+.
Beginning with Firefox 4, the Go, Reload, and Stop buttons were merged into a single dynamic button at the end of the Location Bar. This placement is not mandatory, though. By using the toolbar customization dialog, the buttons can be dragged out onto the toolbar and moved wherever you want them.
If the buttons are adjacent, and their order on the toolbar is Reload / Stop, they're automatically merged into a single button -- which is what the Smart Stop/Reload extension does.
If you want individual buttons, simply reorder the buttons as Stop / Reload, or if you want them arranged as Reload / Stop, put a flexible space between them. Since the Location Bar flexes to take up available width, this will collapse the flex space between the buttons and they'll appear normally adjacent.
JSLover's update has NoUn Buttons working on FX10 on the Mac.
This is great stuff! The ability to display separated histories on the unified B/F button means that this new version doesn't suffer from the previous problems with theme compatibility.
Nice going, JSLover! Kudos to you for bringing this back from the grave!
.42 works great on Firefox 7.01 (on Mac). This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.41). This user has a previous review of this add-on.
I can confirm that the issue that mesaverde posted on September 30 also occurs on the Mac version of the extension. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.41).
User O---xxx--\(..o..)/--xxx----O calls "Back Forward Separate" a clone of NoUn Buttons. This is not the case. NoUn (not the grammatical "noun") stands for NO UNIFIED history buttons. The only thing that Back Forward Separate does (as of v.1.1) is allow you to move the buttons around independent of one another. It still maintains the unified history, and is therefore no kind of replacement for NoUn Buttons.
Still hoping that gulp21 will update NoUn Buttons, or that waldi, the Back Forward Separate dev, will add separate histories to his extension.
If you want/need to move your back and forward buttons around, this add-on works as advertised. But as of version 1.1, it is not a replacement for the separate history functionality that was removed by the Mozilla devs.
@waldi: Do you have any intention of implementing the separate back and forward histories that Firefox used to have (and that NoUn Buttons restored)?
@tsvell: Dropmarkers are a convenience, not a necessity in many circumstances, since they indicate functionality, but don't actually provide it. You've always been able to get the same functionality by simply right-clicking the navigation buttons. (I would habitually remove the markers with userchrome.css, which made for a less cluttered UI.)
Vertical Tabs is an excellent way to reclaim valuable space on a widescreen display.
NOTE: If you're running TMP (as I was), there's a conflict that prevents the tab bar from being scrolled with the mouse wheel. Since you no longer need the custom tab bar that TMP provides, and most if not all of the additional tab functions are available in Tab Utils, giving up TMP doesn't really cost you anything.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but gulp21 says this on his forum:
I've not planned to update NoUn buttons for Fx4 for various reasons:
1) I'm not using windows any more, so testing is a bit complicated (I'm using VirtualBox, but that's no that comfortable)
2) I do not have that much time any more.
If I have enough time, I might release a new version (maybe using Jetpack if it's possible)
That's too bad because this extension replaces functionality that MoFo should never have removed in the first place -- it's first rate!
@Alan Baxter: That's good to know, but unfortunately, Digger 3.5.3 isn't available on this page. It was a special tweak by NightWolf1298 that had its own page on AMO, and has since disappeared. If you've got a download link, I'm sure people'd appreciate having it.
Have used this extension on other versions of Firefox, and it's great. Unfortunately, 1.0.4 doesn't work on Firefox 3.0.17.
Hopefully this will get fixed, and support added for Firefox 3.6.
Abandoned and does not work with Thunderbird 3.
Use Remove Duplicate Messages (Alternate) : https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/4654
It's a five star replacement.
Flawless execution and amazingly fast! Couldn't ask for anything more.
(Running it on TB 3b2 / TB 3b3, with Penelope.)
