My Reviews

Zen Broadband Usage Viewer

Will no longer be maintained Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I brought it to the attention of Zen that this addon no longer works and this was the initial reponse I received:

"There is currently a known problem with the FireFox viewer which reports the following "An error occurred whilst trying to authenticate to the remote server. Check your settings and contact support if the problem persists".

If you encounter this issue enter your Portal login details again and the usage checker should work again.

If this fails to work and just flickers then I would advise that you do not use this application.

Please be aware of the following which is stated on this page, in particular 3,4 and 6:

1. All software provided by us is Š Zen Internet Limited
2. The OS-X client and the FireFox client are released under the GNU license
3. All software is provided as is, no support from Zen Internet is available
4. By using this software you accept all responsibility for any negative affects of this software
5. Misuse of Zen Web Services will not be tolerated, access to Zen Web Services may be removed without warning
6. Although we make every effort to check 3rd party clients we are in no way responsible for them. Use is entirely at your own risk"

Nowhere on Mozilla does it state that this addon was coded by a third party, and I replied that I thought that this response was a bit of a cop out - this was the follow-up reply I received:

"I'm sorry you feel this is a cop out. However this is not a cop out, it is simply our terms and conditions and it is stating that this product was not designed by Zen but a third party to which we are happy to show other customers that there is something available. However as Zen did not design or code this application, we have no control over this and have no facility to do so.

We did state this has a known issue and we have stated this and also given a solution for customers to attempt to resolve something.

Please remember this an "option" to use this third party application and in no way a product that Zen Internet are obliged to supply or support. Therefore if this is something you are not happy with then all we can advise is that you do not use it."

I think you can take it as read that this addon will never again be supported, which is disappointing considering this is Zen we are talking about.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.0.1-signed.1-signed).

If you increase the max version in the rdf file it will install and it does still work, functions absolutely fine no problems.

Firefox 24.0

Siphon - Add-on Synchronizer

Not working as of 29th July 2013 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

As of 29th July 2013 this addon is no longer working. Last sync date was 2 days ago (27th July) - now no longer displaying in the addon bar, and going into Options (via 'Add-ons'), the Siphon Settings box and selecting the Installer tab, the box is not loading the list of addons. For me this addon is definitely not working at all. -- Firefox 23.0 installed.

ChromaTabs Plus

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Just to let you know - if you change the maxVersion of ChromaTabs Plus 3.0.0b1, it will install on Firefox 6 and is a lot more subtle than ColorfulTabs (also works fine with HashColoured Tabs+).

Mozilla Labs: Prospector - LessChrome HD

Why isn't this part of Firefox by default? Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I'd like to see an option when you untick 'Tabs on Top', that the orange button on the top left (whatever it's called), and the Navigation Toolbar are merged so that they are both on the same line. It's a complete total waste of space to have a whole line taken up just for one small orange button.

CuteMenus Classic

CuteMenus Classic Mod Rated 5 out of 5 stars
