Keeps yer tabs on! Version 1.6pre4 of January 2, 2013 works with Firefox 20 just fine, grab it at the bottom of the addon page in Development Channel. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.5.1). This user has 2 previous reviews of this add-on.
Thank you for making a viable alternative to flagfox.
However, it needs to have the same info and menu accessible from the url bar flag icon (which should be on by default). Also, it displays erroneous info about internal network IPs, for example it shows 192.168.0.6 as being in Italy.
And as noted, had to get the most recent 2.8 using the ftp archive! (So I assume this extension doesn't get updated very often and/or may not update it's IP database enough too.)
Very nice, similar to Google's own dictionary extension for Chrome.
The customization dialog should be accessible from the add-on manager. Putting it on the Tools menu that is not visible unless your firefox is in old menubar mode is not cool.
Requiring quicktime for the pronunciation feature is a major drawback; using native or flash would be preferred.
Works perfectly with Firefox 17.0.1.This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.0). This user has 2 previous reviews of this add-on.
Seems to finally work right with the new youboob changes.
A small request I have would be a setting to auto expand the "Show more" section.
Keeps getting better. This extension is one of the main reasons I can't use any other browser than Firefox.
Essential addon for viewing certain pic gallery type sites. ;)
Hey don't blame the extension for making certain sites not work, that's what the whitelist is for!
Seems vid size setting still doesn't do anything. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.971).
UPDATE: DOESN'T WORK ANYMORE AS OF MID Nov.2012!
Simple addon that works like it should. Makes youboob play at highest res and expands the vid, pure and simple.
(Devilush is wrong, youboob's own settings do NOT make vids play at top HD setting, unless fullscreen.)
My new favorite context search add-on! It's simply brilliant how you can have exactly the engines you want outside the submenu, and in any order. Plus the fact you have control over how the search tab opens (or uses current) is a huge bonus. Well done.
One suggestion I would like to offer is have a visual guide in the manage engines dialog showing what you have selected for each engine (like if it is set to site search, if is outside the submenu, etc.).
Doesn't work with WatchESPN so had to remove.
Firefox auto-updated this to 0.25, only to find it disabled on restart stating it's not compatible with 13.0.1?! Wow. OK, mistakes happen, so will overlook this major oops once. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.25). This user has a previous review of this add-on.
Wow, my new favorite context search! Nicely replaces the old long-time standard "Context Search 0.4.6" with a more modern menu with a built-in default (that old extension always required my to re-enable the 'extensions.contextsearch.hideStandardContextItem' parameter so I could have quicker access to the default).
Only problem I ran into was I had to restart Firefox to get it to install, I kept getting a "could not update a necessary file" or similar until I did. But then it did install without restarting again.
Pretty mean rating 1 star because it doesn't remove your blocks on uninstall! So just install it again and do so, and uninstall again. heh
Still the best least-intrusive total script blocker using Firefox's own built-in way of blocking script on a site. Great for disabling script where you want for sites you visit often (take, e.g., ImageBam pages, to stop auto shrinking of images).
FF13, seems whitelist is broken. Hope this is fixed soon, since this extension version is 1 year old next month. :o 5 stars when fixed!
Update: Appears to be working again thanks to FF 13.0.1.
The new "Image Zoom" for sure! I find Image Tweak to be really a lot more convenient than said other extension (that has some memory leak and appears to be abandoned as well). While it takes just a little getting used to, it is simply great at what it does. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.24.1).
Really good search enhancer. Would like to be able to order the search engine list in the context menu the way I prefer. It's still a good replacement for "Context Search" extension, but that follows the order of the engines set by the user. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.7.1).
Thanks for 1.6 update!
I take it that no longer having the toolbar button right-click menu is to somehow improve performance? Dunno if the new way is really better yet, getting used to it though. It just seemed easier being able to check for redirects all in one place (that menu).
@wackoae: Try adding yahoo.com to the whitelist then? It's not really the extension's fault, that's what the whitelist is for afterall.
So, this extension was updated a few days ago, adding a "enable sponsorship" setting (which was at least stated in the update notes after it updated). It did default to on, but I did not see what it actually did (if anything). Naturally, I quickly turned off the setting and didn't worry about it. So now it updates again, with that sponsorship setting gone, and NO notes about any changes. Not really cool. I once uninstalled this addon years ago when it kept begging for donations in the addons window itself. lol Well, it's high time to have nothing to do with this extension forever. ("Download Manager Tweak" is a good alternative.)This user has 2 previous reviews of this add-on.
This addon is great, will be quite useful until the search box eventually gets ditched like the other browsers. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.5.0). This user has a previous review of this add-on.
This new alternative to WorldIP and flagfox sounds interesting, but needs more info in its description here. What does the flag's tooltip look like? Does it keep a locally updated database for lookups, or does it constantly contact your server for the info (which could be a major drag)? Thanks.
