Who Targets Me 0.1.11 Compatible with Firefox 57+
Keep track of how political organisations target you for adverts on social media. You'll also be anonymously helping an international research project to understand how elections are affected by social media advertising.
About this Add-on
During the 2015 general election and 2016 referendum, campaigns spent millions of pounds purchasing highly targeted Facebook adverts. Voters were bombarded with messages tailored to their interests, location, age, gender and more. For the good of our democracy, it's time to throw some light on dark ads.
The extension works like a reverse-ad blocker. As you browse Facebook, Who Targets Me makes a note of ads you see in your news feed, and the project then categorises them by party affiliation etc.
The extension doesn’t track any personal information, or posts from you or your friends.
We'll automatically stop tracking data on June 9th.
This extension is in constant development.
