    Doesn't work on Android, this should be able to take you to the mentioned pages just by tapping on the options...
    Edit: Just tested on Desktop and it does what it says just fine, hope it gets better on Firefox for Android!

    Hello. The extension description clearly says: “availability of all features of the extension in Firefox for Android is not tested and not guaranteed”. That said, some features work, that’s why Android is not excluded from the platforms the extension is available on. Would it be better to make the extension desktop-only?
    Update: The extension could get better on Android once debugging addons in Firefox for Android gets more straightforward and developer-friendly. :-)

    Exactly what I needed, but I would really like an option to add a keyboard shortcut of my choice to go back to the domains root! Any chanse of that happening?

    There is a built-in shortcut for this purpose — Alt+H, described on the official UsableHomeButton webpage. Ability to change the shortcut dynamically is not planned.

    I love it. The extension’s menu has actions for almost everything I usually need to focus the address bar for. The URL-editing actions are not just for removing parts of the path: when relevant, the menu also gives the option of changing HTTP to HTTPS or removing the “www” subdomain. And the “Copy…” submenu supports copying not just various parts of the URL, but the page title too. I think it makes more sense that the “Copy Page Title” feature is in the Home menu provided by this extension, rather than in the context menu of each tab, a feature provided by some other extensions. The “Search in Internet Archive” feature also simplifies one of my most common use cases for copying the URL.

    One could hypothetically object that all these features are too opinionated and not tightly focused on a single goal. If someone usually looks up old version of pages on a different service from the Internet Archive, then that menu item would be a waste of space for them. And the Home button is generally about editing the URL, so one might say it’s confusing that the extension also supports copying the rendered page’s title. But in my case, the actions supported by this extension very closely match the actions I often perform manually, so I don’t mind the variety of features. I haven’t yet needed the three items at the bottom of the menu, but since they are below all other menu items, the inclusion of those three items doesn’t slow me down significantly.

    I recommend configuring the toolbar to place this extension’s button just to the left of the address bar. That makes more sense to me than placing it to the left of the Back button, since the button also provides copying actions, which I previously clicked on the address bar itself to perform. Also, I think most people have muscle memory for the Back button being at the left side of the window.

    It's quite nice, but, call me shallow, the icon doesn't fit the new ui. It just makes the toolbar look incoherent. Otherwise I think it's a great addon

    Very nice, but please use the default Firefox home icon, this one doesn't match the rest of the icons.

    REPLY TO REPLY: First, I thought it's ment to replace the original icon (at least that's how I use it). Second, it doesn't have to be identical, just matching the default icon design and color.

    Having two visually identical but functionally different buttons would be confusing.

    Взяли и испортили всё! раньше хорошо работало жал 1 раз и переходил на главную страницу сайта а сейчас надо 2 раза тыкать и смотреть куда 2 раз тыкать, сделайте настройку дополнения чтобы по левой кнопке сразу переходил а по правой всякие доп функции или настройку дополнения чтобы переключать дополнение из простого режима в расширенный.

    Обновлено (2017-12-07): в новой версии UsableHomeButton 2.1 главная страница открывается нажатием кнопки, как в версиях 1.x. Меню расширения теперь открывается с помощью контекстного меню.

    * * *

    Причиной изменений являются ограничения нового программного механизма WebExtensions. Этот механизм разработчики расширений ВЫНУЖДЕНЫ использовать начиная с Firefox 57, т.к. поддержку прежнего механизма (на котором работали версии UsableHomeButton 1.x) создатели Firefox ОТКЛЮЧИЛИ.

    В частности, нажатие с Ctrl (для открытия в новой вкладке) и Shift (для открытия в новом окне), а также щелчок средней кнопкой мыши (для открытия в новой вкладке) отследить теперь технически НЕВОЗМОЖНО.

    А в контекстное меню расширение теперь может добавить лишь шесть пунктов, причём стандартные пункты типа «Прикрепить в расширенном меню», «Удалить с панели инструментов» и проч. удалить тоже технически невозможно.

    Единственное, что можно было бы предпринять, чтобы сделать новую версию UsableHomeButton более привычной — привязать переход на главную страницу сайта на обычное нажатие кнопки, без возможности открыть её в новой вкладке или новом окне. Возможность переключиться на такой вариант с помощью настроек (текущее меню при этом, скорее всего, будет открываться с помощью соответствующего пункта контекстного меню) я планирую добавить в одной из следующих версий расширения.
