About this extension
Press Alt+K (Windows/Linux) or Command+K (Mac) to open Tab Commander.
Tab Commander is a keyboard-first command palette for Chrome. Open it with your shortcut, search what you need, and act — without touching the mouse.
KEY FEATURES
• Switch tabs — find any open tab across all windows by title or URL, then jump to it.
• Audio tabs — see which tabs are playing sound and switch to them fast.
• Manage the current tab — pin, duplicate, close, copy URL, reopen closed tabs, or move between nearby tabs.
• Tab groups — add tabs to a new or existing group, set colors, remove from groups, or delete groups.
• Rename tabs — give messy pages clear custom names.
• Auto-rename rules — save per-URL rules so matching pages rename themselves automatically.
• Favicon labels — add small colored labels (dev, staging, prod, admin, test) to site favicons.
• Bookmarks — search, open, and import/export bookmarks from the palette.
• Tools — generate and scan QR codes, capture full-page screenshots, pick colors, remove page elements with optional persistent hiding, hide YouTube Shorts and Facebook Reels, and generate random strings.
• Themes — switch between light and dark.
• GitHub Gist sync (optional) — sync your rules and settings through your own Gist when you connect it.
PRIVACY
Local-first by design. No analytics, no tracking, no ads, no background data collection.
Your tabs, rules, labels, and settings stay in your browser. The only network request is optional GitHub Gist sync, and it runs only after you connect it with your own token. Nothing else leaves your browser.
