- Rated 1 out of 5There are three big problems with this extension:
1. "Pie Rewards" uses unlicensed code and filters from uBlock Origin, a very popular adblock for Chrome and Firefox. uBlock is all licensed under GPL, and Pie Rewards violates this. They've pretty much taken a complete free and source-available community product, tweaked it a little bit for Google's Manifest v3 APIs, and published it as a for-profit browser extension. It's illegal, deceptive, and generally smelly.
2. Almost certainly named "Pie" to link it to PiHole, an adblock method for an entire network you can do using a Raspberry Pi. They are entirely unrelated, and this feels deceptive.
3. It's made by the same guy who made the Honey extension, which was bought out by Paypal and used to carry out mass affiliate fraud, screwing both consumers and affiliates alike. This extension being released at a similar time to the Honey exposé is not a good look. - Rated 1 out of 5
