About this extension
NetTrace AI captures HTTP requests and responses directly from your browser and formats them for AI debugging workflows. Stop manually copying network data from DevTools — just click and let AI fix your bugs.

KEY FEATURES

• Real-time request capture — Intercepts fetch, XHR, and page navigations with full headers, status codes, timing, and response bodies.

• One-click copy — Select any request and copy a clean, AI-ready debug context to your clipboard. Paste it into ChatGPT, Claude, or any LLM.

• Send to IDE (Premium) — Push captured requests directly into Cursor or VS Code. The NetTrace IDE Companion receives them instantly over a local connection — no cloud relay, no latency.

• AI tool integration (Premium) — In Cursor, NetTrace tools are invoked automatically by AI via MCP. In VS Code, reference tools like #nettracelog and #nettracefail directly in chat. Ask AI to fix your failing endpoints without ever leaving your editor.

• Auto-send errors (Premium) — Enable a single toggle and all failed requests (4xx/5xx) are continuously streamed to your IDE in the background. No manual clicks needed.

• Domain filtering — Choose which sites to monitor. Capture everything or limit to specific domains.

• Privacy-first — All data stays local. Requests are captured in your browser and sent directly to your local IDE. Nothing is sent to external servers.

HOW IT WORKS
  1. Browse any website with NetTrace enabled
  2. Open the popup to see captured requests in real time
  3. Click any request to view full details — method, URL, status, headers, request/response body
  4. Copy the formatted context to clipboard, or send it directly to Cursor/VS Code
  5. Ask AI to diagnose and fix the issue

PREMIUM FEATURES (requires nettrace.ai account)

• Direct IDE bridge — Send sessions to Cursor or VS Code over local WebSocket
• Background auto-send — Stream all errors to your IDE automatically
• AI tools — 8 purpose-built tools for Cursor (MCP) and VS Code (Language Model Tools)
