GemProxy Browser Extension — Privacy Policy

What the extension stores
- Your proxy key and GemProxy API token, saved only in your browser's local extension storage (storage.local). They never leave your device except when sent to the GemProxy API below.

What the extension sends, and where
- Requests to https://api.gemproxy.com to look up your proxy, connect, change IP and show remaining time. These requests carry your proxy key and API token.
- When you turn the proxy on, your browser traffic is routed through the GemProxy proxy server assigned to your key. That is the purpose of the extension.

What the extension does NOT do
- It does not collect, log or sell your browsing history.
- It does not use analytics, tracking or advertising code.
- It does not load or run remote code.

Permissions
- proxy, webRequest, webRequestBlocking, <all_urls>: route traffic through your proxy and answer the proxy's login prompt.
- storage: remember your key and token on this device.
- alarms: refresh connection status in the background.

Removing your data
Uninstalling the extension deletes everything it stored. Proxy usage on the GemProxy service is covered by our full privacy policy: https://gemproxy.com/privacy-policy
