About this extension
Frame is a local-first Firefox extension for capturing, framing and redacting web page screenshots. Capture the visible viewport or an entire scrolling page, wrap it in a clean Chrome, Safari or Firefox mockup, mask sensitive content, then export.
Privacy: Frame does not collect, store or transmit any user data. Captures live in your browser's IndexedDB only for the duration of an editing session. The Imgur upload is strictly opt-in. No analytics, no tracking, no telemetry.
Open source under the MIT license. Source code, issues and security policy on GitHub.
- Two capture modes: visible viewport or full scrolling page (chunks are auto-stitched, sticky headers handled).
- Three browser frames (Chrome, Safari, Firefox) with editable URL, tab title, light or dark theme. Adjust shadow, padding, corner radius and background (gradients, solids or transparent).
- Three redaction styles: Blur (aesthetic), Mosaic (robust), Solid (irreversible black box). Use Mosaic or Solid for genuinely sensitive content — Blur is partially reversible.
- Export to PNG, JPG or WebP. Download to disk, copy to clipboard, or upload to Imgur on demand.
