Folder Bar by osi.vibe.code
Your own bookmarks bar on every page, with folders that open like Firefox's menus, Work and Personal profiles and a Common set. Edit bookmarks in place, size the bar your way, and get a new tab with search and most visited sites.

About this extension
Folder Bar puts your bookmarks bar at the top of every web page and lets you switch between Work and Personal profiles in one click. Bookmarks you use everywhere stay in Common and always show. Nothing is moved: your Firefox bookmarks stay exactly where they are.
Profiles
- All / Work / Personal buttons right on the bar; add your own profiles
- Every bookmark is Common unless you put it in a profile or hide it
- Right-click any bookmark or folder to choose where it shows
- "Suggest profiles" makes a first guess from your bookmark names; you confirm before anything changes
- Export and import your setup to move it to another computer or to Chrome
The bar
- Folders open like Firefox's own menus: subfolders open beside them as you point, and with a menu open, pointing at another folder switches to it
- Prefer clicking, or subfolders that expand in the same list? Both are settings
- Folder menus show your separators and work with the keyboard (arrows, Enter, Esc)
- Bookmarks that don't fit go under », or wrap onto more rows
- Sliders for the bar's height and text size, and for the spacing, text size and width of folder menus
- Right-click to rename a bookmark or change its address
- Site icons, dark mode that follows your system, and a ▴ button to shrink the bar out of the way
Also
- A sidebar with the same bookmarks as a searchable tree (works on every page)
- A new tab page with the bar, a search box using your default search engine, and your most visited sites
Privacy
- No account, no ads, no analytics, no data sent to the developer
- Settings stay in this Firefox profile
- To show site icons, Folder Bar downloads each bookmarked site's icon from that site (no cookies sent), about once a week. Turn "Show site icons" off in Settings to stop this.
- Access to all websites is needed only to draw the bar on pages. Folder Bar does not read or send page content.

Where the bar can't appear: Firefox doesn't allow any add-on on its own pages (Settings, Add-ons, about: pages), on addons.mozilla.org or on PDFs. Use the sidebar there: click the toolbar button.
New tab page: Folder Bar replaces Firefox's new tab page. To get Firefox's back, go to Settings › Home › New tabs.
Site icons: Firefox gives add-ons no access to its icon cache, so each bookmarked site's icon is downloaded from that site (no cookies sent) about once a week. Turn off "Show site icons" in Settings for letter badges and no downloads.
Your profiles and settings stay in your Firefox profile and are never synced or sent anywhere.
