- Rated 3 out of 5by Harry, 3 years agoThis was the best shorturl I have ever used until about 3 weeks ago, when it would give an error instead of shortening the url. Recently it will use the tinyurl, app. My main social media is minds.com and minds won't let me use tinyurl, because they say it links to spam. There are now 12 websites which I receive newsletters from that they use the tinyurl on. Copy shorturl is no longer my favorite.

posted 3 years agoWhy don't you choose a different URL shortener in the addon's settings? I did not cause is.gd to break, I'm just reacting to their service going away (try it yourself: go to is.gd in firefox and notice their website has disappeared).
Also, if you have a favorite URL shortening service that isn't supported, please file an issue on GitHub Issues for this add-on and I'm happy to take a look.
For what it's worth, I personally use bitly (with an API key that I created on their website) and it works great. - Rated 3 out of 5by GG, 4 years agoI been using this extension for sometime now with no problems. Not until the recent upgrade reason for 3-stars. After upgrade it didn't work at all, forcing me to use something else which is overkill for what I need. Anyway, I finally reverted back to the previous version. Wish I didn't have to. Using FF 62.0

posted 4 years agoCan you file an issue on github about this? Reviews are not the perfect place for support requests. - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 12816003, 6 years agoToo bad it does not work on the Android app.
Pena não funcionar no app para Android. - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 13530850, 7 years agothank you for making it compatible with quantum!
i rate it 3 stars since it is missing the ability to assign a a keyboard shortcut rather than looking for buttons and get the hands off from the keyboard and onto the mouse.
i used to work with shortly url shortner[1], but it incompatible with quantum.
it used to let you choose the url shortner service (bit.ly, goo.gl, etc.) and once you assign a keyboard shortcut, when using the shortcut it automatically shorten the url and copies it to the clipboard.
if you had such functionality, it will be a bliss.
i wish other could up vote it (i will try to post the same over the github page if such exist)

posted 7 years agoThere is a keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+L, try it! (or CMD on Mac) - Rated 3 out of 5by orange, 7 years agonever failed. i.gd is not always able to shorten what i send there. bitly.com is imho best, but needs registering with email and Copy ShortURL needs a token. not so easy...
i also would like a shorter notification.
thanx for replying and evolving the addon. simply getting the short url into the clipboard is still not functioning. any idea why? it worked before i fuzzeled with bit.ly.Developer response
posted 7 years agoI filed an issue to add bitly support, which should be doable:

Notifications can be disabled in the next version of the add-on:
https://github.com/fwenzel/copy-shorturl/issues/70
I do not think I can control the duration of the notification.
