About this extension
Clean Copy fixes messy pastes by removing invisible/formatting characters that sneak into text from the web, PDFs, docs, or chat apps. What it removes Zero-width characters: ZWSP/ZWJ/ZWNJ Soft hyphen (SHY) BOM and variation selectors Bi-di control marks Control characters (Optional build here removes line feeds \n/\r so everything pastes as a single line.)How it works Auto-clean on copy/cut: when enabled, your clipboard text is cleaned before it’s stored. Right-click → Copy cleaned text: on demand. Leaves normal spaces and tabs intact (unless you install the “no line feeds” variant). Why this helps Stops weird search behavior and broken commands caused by hidden characters. Makes pasting into terminals, IDEs, CMSs, and spreadsheets predictable.Features Toggle Auto-clean from the toolbar popup. Context menu action for selections. No data collection. No remote requests. 100% local.Usage Install the add-on. (Optional) Open the toolbar popup and ensure Auto-clean is ON. Copy as usual—or use Right-click → Copy cleaned text.
