About this extension
Many indigenous tribes are known by names that do not reflect their actual endonym (the name the tribes use for itself in its own language). Some of these popular names are even insults. I have created this extension to provide a toggle to switch between the popular name and endonym to help educate the actual names of various tribes. Currently, this list is limited to federally recognized Native American tribes; however, I hope to expand this to include Alaskan Natives, Hawaiian Natives, and tribes outside of the USA. I also in the long-term would like to include indigenous place names.
