Reviews for Snowflake
Snowflake by The Tor Project
Review by Firefox user 15330737

posted 5 years agoWhen the extension starts up, it does some feature detection (for websockets, webrtc) and a connectivity test (to the bridge). If everything is passing, it should display the string, "Your Snowflake is ready to help users circumvent censorship" (or, the equivalent translation). That's currently the indication that it's working.
Note that, by design, there are many more snowflakes than users, so it may take a while before accepting a connection.
We're working on better ways to communicate that the extension is being useful in,

- Rated 1 out of 5by Dan, a month agoAdd-on cannot be pinned to addon-bar anymore for some weird reason. Also, it appears to massively interfere with Tor-browser if you have this addon enabled in normal Firefox while also attempting to browse the internet in the Tor-browser. I have to deactivate this addon now because of this, until this is fixed.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 17628517, 4 months agoI think it would better to inform user that they need to enable WebRTC in about:config, i.e. first time installment, and add an inform when WebRTC is disabled.
Last but not least, we should also inform user that this extension should only used for censor-free internet region users. This add-on is not a proxy or VPN. - Rated 5 out of 5by voltriz, 4 months ago
