Contrary to the tone here, it works on Firefox/Linux with native gpg very well (current openSUSE Tumbleweed here).
Follow these instructions: https://github.com/mailvelope/mailvelope/wiki/Mailvelope-GnuPG-integration
Yes, it needs creating one file by hand. - Rated 5 out of 5by Pixelcode, 2 months ago

- Rated 3 out of 5by peacefulpotato, a year agoDoes not work at all with GPG on Linux.
EDIT: You have to follow https://github.com/mailvelope/mailvelope/wiki/Mailvelope-GnuPG-integration. You may also have to install from GitHub. This was not linked at all on the extension description or in the extension itself, hence the three stars. - Rated 2 out of 5by Formaint'Info, a year agoFR : Mailvelope est un non-sens. Thunderbird est beaucoup plus pratique et efficace. Fonctionne bien avec Gmail. Mais avec Yahoo et Outlook il n'est pas possible d'insérer une pièce jointe.
US : Mailvelope is a nonsense Thunderbird is much more convenient and efficient.
Work well with Gmail. But with Yahoo and Outlook it's not possible to insert an attachment. - Rated 3 out of 5by RokeJulianLockhart, a year ago

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 17417617, 2 years agoNow on Ubuntu "Jammy" with firefox 101.0.1. Also the new version 4.6.0 does not work. It can be installed, but is not detected by mail applications. The browser console shows
ExtensionError: No such native application gpgmejson
Just does not work, Ubuntu Impish, FF 100.0.1.
I actually never succeeded in installing this addon with firefox. Sad story. - Rated 2 out of 5by Jfmblinux, 2 years agoI'm surprised to see this:

- Rated 1 out of 5by LevonM, 2 years agoI really wish the GnuPG/Linux would get fixed. This has been an issue for years.

Do you have GnuPG installed?"
