This extension will re-direct you to a website to download MALWARE. It's flagged by 6 vendors via VirusTotal as MALICIOUS. Stay vigilant! Stay away from this extension, and report it to Mozilla! Thank you!Developer response
posted 3 days agoHi,
Thank you for your feedback, but your information is incorrect. BrightVPN has been online for over two years and was developed by Bright Data, a highly reputable company in the data industry. The extension will re-direct you to our website so you can download our app.
Additionally, BrightVPN is certified by AppEsteem, a trusted organization that certifies safe and reliable apps. You can view the certification by Googling 'appesteem Bright Data'.
We take security very seriously, and any claims of malware are simply false positives that often occur when apps release new versions and the Anti-virus database has yet to update that change.
If you have any further concerns, please feel free to reach out to us directly at help@brightvpn.com - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 18606219, 15 days ago

posted 7 months agoHi Dan,
As outlined in the description, the Bright VPN extension for Firefox lets you control the Bright VPN desktop application directly from your browser. It does not provide any VPN or proxy functionality by itself.
• To use this extension, the Bright VPN desktop application needs to be installed
• The extension will assist you with its installation if it’s not already installed
• Do not install this extension if you do not want to install the Bright VPN desktop application

posted a year agoHi,
Please try installing BrightVPN prior to installing our browser extension.
Moreover, make sure the Mozilla account login you are using to install the extension is the same one you are using on the computer you are installing BrightVPN.
BrightVPN extension is essentially a remote control that allows you to turn ON your VPN from anywhere.

posted a year agoHi,
We would like to clarify that a browser extension VPN and a standard VPN are two distinct applications with different functionalities.
The purpose of a browser extension VPN is solely to alter your IP address while you are browsing the internet.
On the other hand, a regular VPN, which requires installation on your PC, serves the purpose of hiding the IP address of any application installed on your computer that connects to the internet. This is precisely the purpose of our VPN.
Thus, we believe your review is unjust, as it appears to assess our app not based on how effectively it serves its intended purpose, but rather on how well it aligns with your personal needs.
The purpose of our browser extension is to act as a remote control, which allows you to turn BrightVPN ON and OFF while being away from your computer.
It is worth noting that approximately 95% of VPNs do offer a Windows version. However, at this moment, we do not yet have a browser version available.- Rated 1 out of 5by Zaycheg, a year ago

posted a year agoWe appreciate your feedback and would like to clarify some points regarding its functionality.
The BrightVPN extension is designed to allow users to remotely turn the VPN ON/OFF on their computer, it does not substitute the need to install the VPN client software.
We understand that there may have been some confusion regarding the extension's purpose, but we encourage you to use and rate the extension based on its intended functionality.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused by our inability to provide service in Iran. Unfortunately, specific country laws and restrictions prevent us from offering our services in certain regions. We are constantly reviewing our policies and regulations, and we hope that in the future we will be able to expand our services to more countries.- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 17806413, 2 years agoDoes not work. You do not need the extension in order to use BrightVPN.
The extension is an extra feature that allows you to turn BrightVPN ON and OFF without having to be at your computer, as long as you have access to your browser profile you can control the VPN from anywhere.- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 14971508, 2 years ago1 stern , vpn funktioniert nur auf ipv4 adresse nicht ipv 6 darum gibts nur 1 stern von mir. ich werde weiter testen und dementsprechend die bewertung anpassen. wenn ich nach meinem standort suche über ip adresse, kommt mein standort, also es wird nichts anonym. das ist nicht so toll, da gibts bessere vpn , die den standort nicht sichtbar machen. wollte über schweiz einen film schauen mit vpn schweiz funktioniert nicht, kommt immer fehler bzw ich wäre nicht in dem land und hätte auch keine internetverbindung. von daher vpn nutzlos

posted 2 years agoHi,
We are sorry you feel that way. Currently, we are not supporting IPv6 because there is not yet enough usage purpose that justifies supporting it, once relevant we will allow it as well.
Regarding your original location, it will not show if you are connected to our VPN, after all the purpose of It is exactly to disguise your location, please make sure you are connected to our VPN before you make that test again.
If a specific service does not work for you please contact our support at help@brightvpn.com and we will be more than happy to help you, cheers! - Rated 1 out of 5by Rus Ovidiu Dan, 2 years ago
