Developer response
posted a month agoI'm sorry to hear that happened. It may be an ad block preventing the loading of the video, but it's hard to say without knowing which website. Can you share please at help.malwarebytes.com?

- Rated 1 out of 5by majesticmini, 12 hours agoI would love to continue using this add-on, but it takes too much RAM. It does not show us what sites to ban, either. What do you care, at all, besides your money?

- Rated 1 out of 5by Lawrence Hamelin, 13 days agoI've used Malwarebytes for years, and never had a problem. Today, it blocked literally every website I had open, and then closed them all when I removed the extension. I usually keep a lot of tabs open for research, and now I'm going to have to look up hundreds of items from scratch.
Developer response
posted 10 days agoI’m sorry you lost hundreds of tabs. That is so frustrating. Unfortunately, Browser Guard incorrectly blocked some legitimate sites because we had a database update that caused a false positive.
An automatic fix was deployed shortly after the false positive was flagged. We've also put in additional guardrails to prevent false positives like this from occuring again in the future.
This was actually fixed over 10 days ago, so it's a bit odd that you saw it 2 days ago.
If possible can you reach out to Support via our chatbot (it will direct to a live person) -- help.malwarebytes.com? - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 17089652, 15 days ago

- Rated 2 out of 5by ma, 20 days agoNice intention but too many websites just don't work properly when activated. Especially the Ad/Tracker Blocker practically disables browsing.
Developer response
posted 20 days agoAds/Tracker blocking in general can interfere with sites that are aggressively trying to show ads. That said, it would be interesting to know which sites are giving extra issues, in case there's a bug on our side.
If possible can you reach out via the chatbot on help.malwarebytes.com to share more details, please? - Rated 1 out of 5by AC⚡️DC, 21 days agoMate, no other add-on stuffs up as much as this one. Today 50 of me tabs got blocked; I could only remember about ten off the top of me head – the rest are gone for good. That’s why I’m chuckin’ it today; the risk’s way too high. A couple of times a year somethin’ goes pear-shaped, so I gotta switch the add-on off. I’ve had a bloody gutful now!
Developer response
posted 20 days agoI’m sorry you lost your 50 of your tabs, truly frustrating. Totally understand chucking it.
The fix for this is already live. We’re also putting in additional guardrails to prevent false positives like this in the future.
Hopefully we can gain back your trust at a future time. - Rated 1 out of 5by Promestein, 21 days agoyep nice .. every single website was blocked on my tab. I googled to look how to unblock everything with one click and did everything, even checked for database updates and nothing worked ... everything is still blocked .. had to manually unblock everything .. thank you very much for this work. Something that blocks everything out of the blue is the last thing someone wants.

What's wrong with reddit and google searches? And it didn't just block them, 80% of them couldn't be rewound so I lost most of my groups. Seriously, quality check your updates for crying out loud.

It blocked every single tab I had, even the pinned ones. The version was last updated Sept 30, 2026 (today is Oct 1st). It was working all day and then out of the blue it blocked every single tab. What a mess.

To note, v3.3.6 is totally fine, it was a database update that has since been reverted. - Rated 1 out of 5by a lab rat, 21 days agoThe latest update blocks the Malwarebytes website itself as unsafe. When someone shows you who they are, believe them.

If you want to speak to a human ASAP, you can ask the bot to connect with an agent and it will do so immediately. Hopefully we can gain back your trust. - Rated 1 out of 5by Kaisuka, 21 days agoRoll back the update. I don't know what idiot authorized this latest update but it's completely broken web browsing. Github wont load the landing page properly and it's just a bunch of text on the left side of the screen and several websites I frequent are being blocked now as "scam" sites, when they arent. In fact I can't get "scammed" anyways because I have an ad-blocker. Roll it back, undo this disaster.
Edit: Disabling the plugin until this is fixed.Developer response

An automatic fix is already underway via a database update. If you’d like to fix this manually, click the Browser Guard extension → Support → Check for DB Updates to make sure you have the latest database. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 20204817, 21 days agoAbsolutely trash. Addon decided everything was malicious and crashed the browser causing every tab and tab group to be lost.
Thanks. Maybe QA your updates next timeDeveloper response

Only allows going on Google, surprisingly. Can only go on websites by disabling the addon. Hopefully it gets fixed quickly.

Trash.
Developer response
posted 22 days agoTo be clear the Firefox version of Browser Guard has zero telemetry gathering.
Regarding the optional options, it is true in 3.3.6 we have enabled the Search Results Reputation feature for all users when it was optional for users before.
If you turn it off now, it will be respected.
