foxcache — your AI chats in your browser by Pooria
Copy your own conversations, projects, memories and custom instructions from the AI chat sites you use, such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok and Perplexity, into your browser. Read-only, and nothing leaves your computer.
Extension Metadata
About this extension
foxcache copies your own data from the AI chat sites you are signed in to, into this browser: conversations, projects (name, instructions and file names), saved memories, and custom instructions or response style.
Who it is for: people who use several AI chat sites and want one copy of their own history and context that they keep, search and move.
What it does
What leaves your computer: nothing. foxcache has no server and no analytics. The only network requests are the reads from the AI site you are signed in to (and Copilot's API address), from your own tab. It answers one other add-on, foxscope (foxscope@pooriaarab), which runs in this browser and asks you before it shares your memories, preferences or project names. It never shares conversations. Every other add-on gets no answer.

What it does
- In the settings page you allow each site one at a time: ChatGPT (with its Codex tasks), Claude, Le Chat (Mistral), DeepSeek, Grok, Perplexity, GitHub Copilot, Kimi, Doubao, Notion AI, Kagi Assistant, Poe, Meta AI, Qwen Chat, Z.ai, HuggingChat, Genspark, Gemini and NotebookLM.
- Open the site and sign in as you always do, then click Capture in the toolbar popup. foxcache reads your data with the session the tab already has. It never sees your password and never reads a cookie: the browser adds the site's cookies, as it does for the site's own page. Some sites (ChatGPT, DeepSeek, GitHub Copilot, Kimi, Poe, Qwen Chat, Z.ai, Gemini, NotebookLM) also need a token or key that their own page reads; foxcache reads it the same way in the tab and never stores or passes it on.
- It only reads. Every request it makes is a read from a fixed list for that site, to the site's own address, or for GitHub Copilot to api.individual.githubcopilot.com, the address github.com's own chat reads from. Most reads are GETs. Grok, Perplexity, Kimi, Doubao, Notion AI, Poe, Meta AI, Gemini and NotebookLM read some data by POST, as their own pages do: each such POST is on a fixed read path and names a read operation. Requests go one at a time with a pause between them. It never sends, edits or deletes anything on the site.
- Stop ends a capture; Resume goes on from where it stopped. On a second capture, most sites fetch only what changed; Gemini and Genspark read every chat again, since their lists give no time that moves on a new message.
- The archive page lets you browse and search everything by site and kind, and export it as one archive file, as Markdown files, or as a memory list.
- Delete all removes everything foxcache keeps.

Permissions
- Access to chatgpt.com, claude.ai, chat.mistral.ai, chat.deepseek.com, grok.com, www.perplexity.ai, github.com, api.individual.githubcopilot.com, www.kimi.com, www.doubao.com, app.notion.com, assistant.kagi.com, poe.com, www.meta.ai, chat.qwen.ai, chat.z.ai, huggingface.co, www.genspark.ai, gemini.google.com and notebook.google.com: optional, and asked for one site at a time when you allow it in the settings. GitHub Copilot asks for github.com and api.individual.githubcopilot.com together. foxcache reads a site only when you click Capture.
- Scripting: run the capture inside the site's tab, so it uses the session you already have.
- Unlimited storage: a large chat history must not hit the browser's storage quota.
