It keeps showing the addon notification to install the addon. I dont want to install the addon. I just want to use the search engine, that's it. How do I turn off add-on installation notification once and for all!

On Mac OS sonoma, if you sign up the mail protection, it literally freezes firefox making it run with 100% CPU usage.

DDG is worse than Google for erratic & useless results, plus its transparently trying to throw ads at us. Waste of effort.

Mit so was kommt DuckDuckGo sehr spät um die Ecke das erfüllen Adblocker wie uBlock Origin schon seit Jahren mit zusätzlichen Filterlisten. Von daher ist diese Erweiterung absolut nicht notwendig aber sie tut was sie soll.

This extension is currently broken. Attempting to use DuckDuckGo with it will simply fail to load the website.

I really like DDG, but DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials give me nothing but trouble. It says my browser “has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.”
On top of it, I find it difficult to only have DuckDuckGo as default search Engine without DDG Privacy Essentials.—Help!

I am a huge fan of DDG and use the search engine as my default. Unfortunately, this plugin appears to be incompatible with duckduckgo.com--it causes a redirect loop and the page fails to load. You should already have most of the features it provides through other recommended Firefox extensions, so I think disabling it is the way to go for now. I also think I was missing a lot of the annoying features because ublock blocked them--lol!

1 star because without warning they changed my browser search engine and I was very frustrated while fixing it. They might have written it somewhere in fine print, but that's even worse.

I have tried this add-on with all three of my browsers: Firefox, Chrome, and Edge. The browsers became maddeningly slow.

Messes with website contents, breaks websites. Lacks options to turn off stupid features.

Uninstalling today. DDG is now advertising in email fields as I browse. Nope.

Lost my trust. Inserting DDG ads into email fields? No way. Whomever made this decision... Horrible move.
