About this extension
Syncwarden syncs your Firefox bookmarks with a self-hosted Linkwarden instance: URLs, titles and the folder structure, in the background.

You need your own Linkwarden instance and an access token. Syncwarden has no server of its own; the add-on talks only to the Linkwarden address you enter.

Careful by design
  • Shows you the plan. A dry run computes every create, update and delete without writing anything.
  • No mass deletions on its own. If a sync would delete more than a handful of bookmarks, it stops and lists every action for your approval.
  • Snapshots. Before each batch of writes it saves your bookmark tree; you can roll back from the popup.
  • Fails closed. If Linkwarden answers unexpectedly, or a bookmark changed between planning and writing, the run stops instead of guessing.

How folders map

Your Linkwarden top level is your bookmarks toolbar: collections become folders, nested collections nested folders. "Other Bookmarks" and the "Bookmarks Menu" are synced too, under collections of the same name. New entries from Linkwarden land in the toolbar.

Features
  • Three modes: upload only, additive (both directions, nothing deleted), two-way
  • Syncs when you change bookmarks and on an interval (5–120 minutes)
  • Log of the last 50 events
  • Save the current tab to Linkwarden with one click
  • The access token is stored encrypted with a non-extractable device key

Privacy

Bookmarks (and, when you use "save current page", that page's address) are sent only to the Linkwarden instance you configure. Nothing goes to the developer or any third party; there is no analytics or telemetry.
