About this extension
Read a QR code that is already visible in Firefox without taking a screenshot, switching devices, or uploading the image.
ScreenCode gives you a simple, deliberate workflow:
ScreenCode recognizes websites, contact cards, authenticator setup codes, passkey requests, calendar events, Wi-Fi details, email and phone actions, location links, payment details, product barcodes, and plain text.
Privacy is built into the extension. ScreenCode freezes the visible tab in memory before showing its selector, so the selected result stays tied to the pixels you saw instead of content a page might swap later. The visible-tab capture, selected crop, decoded value, and classification are processed locally on your device. They are not uploaded, transmitted to ScreenCode or a third party, logged, or saved. The background copy of the full visible-tab capture is deleted as soon as the review page retrieves it, or within 60 seconds if the scan is abandoned; the selector and reader clear their image data after use. The extension contains no analytics, remote decoder, remote code, or scan history.
Sensitive values remain concealed where appropriate, and ScreenCode never opens a decoded destination or performs another decoded action without your approval.
