About this extension
Loupe is visual QA for developers building with AI. Spot a bug on a live page, then annotate it right in the browser: drop pins on elements, draw rectangles, leave comments, or record a voice note. Loupe captures the full context — a full-page screenshot, the element's DOM and computed CSS, a unique selector, and console errors — and hands it to your AI coding assistant (Claude Code, Cursor, etc.) through a local MCP server you run yourself.
By default, everything stays on your machine: annotations are written to ~/.loupe/ via a local server on 127.0.0.1, and nothing is transmitted off-device. Optional cloud sharing/sync features are off by default and fully opt-in.
How it works:
1. Run the local server: npx -y @useloupe/mcp-server
2. Press Alt+Shift+L on any page to annotate.
3. Drop pins, add comments or voice, press S to send.
4. Your AI assistant reads the annotation over MCP and fixes the issue.
