Long Chat Window for ChatGPT keeps very long ChatGPT conversations responsive using Firefox's browser-native rendering virtualization.

Historical messages stay in the page DOM and conversation data remains untouched. Off-screen conversation turns can become significantly cheaper for the browser to lay out and paint, while recent complete conversation rounds remain fully rendered.

Older messages remain available for scrolling, text selection, browser search, and ChatGPT's own interface. The extension learns approximate message heights locally to preserve scroll geometry and automatically falls back to pass-through mode if ChatGPT's page structure changes unexpectedly.

The extension does not intercept or modify ChatGPT network responses, delete conversation turns, use analytics, track users, or communicate with an extension backend.

Settings and locally learned rendering estimates remain in the browser. The control panel appears only when the Firefox toolbar icon is clicked.
