Features:

v1.53: Adds Reminders and an ICS Calendar widget to show your to-dos and upcoming events on the new tab, plus Backup & Restore to export all your settings and wallpapers to a single file and keep the same experience across devices. All new features are off by default, stored locally, and add no new permissions.

Wallpaper Library: A random background is displayed each time you open a new tab, with smooth fade and Ken Burns zoom effects. Comes with 5 built-in wallpapers. Upload your own images by clicking or dragging, and choose which ones to include in the rotation.

Daily Quotes: Enable cloud quotes to automatically fetch random quotes from the Hitokoto API. You can also add your own quotes and authors to build a personal collection.

Clock and Greeting: A frosted-glass style clock shows the current time, date, and day of the week. Greetings change based on the time of day and can include your name.

Quick Links: Add, reorder, and remove your most-visited sites. Favicons are fetched automatically.

Customization: The settings drawer lets you show or hide any widget independently.

Privacy and Security:

All uploaded wallpapers and custom quotes are stored locally in your browser's IndexedDB. Nothing is sent to any external server. The extension is built with plain JavaScript and CSS — no tracking, no ads, no unnecessary resource usage.

Enlarged the quick-link icons to match Firefox's native new tab and reduce empty space: glass circle 44px → 54px, icon 24px → 32px, first-letter fallback 1.25rem → 1.5rem.
Favicon fetch resolution bumped sz=64 → sz=128 so icons stay crisp at the larger size.
No new permissions.

Reminder due time now uses a native date picker + a free-typed time field instead of datetime-local (whose segmented, arrow-key editing felt clunky). You can type 9, 930, 0930, or 9:30; it normalizes to HH:MM on blur.
Still strictly validated: digits-only whitelist, hours 0–23 / minutes 0–59, invalid input is rejected with a toast. Values are stored as a numeric timestamp and rendered via textContent, so there is no injection surface.
Shortened the settings tab labels (Quotes/Themes; "Reminders & Calendar" → "Agenda"; "RSS Feed" → "RSS") and nudged the font size so all six tabs sit on one line without crowding.
No new permissions.

Quick Links can now "Import top sites from browser": reads most-visited / pinned sites via the browser topSites API and adds the selected ones in one click (de-duplicated against existing links).
Uses an optional permission (optional_permissions: ["topSites"]), never requested at install — only when you click Import. The list is shown locally and never uploaded.
Limitation: Chrome only exposes most-visited sites (not the tiles you manually pinned on the official new tab); Firefox additionally includes your pinned Top Sites.

v1.53 (June 2026)
New "Reminders & Calendar" settings tab and a top-left agenda card (both off by default).
Local reminders with optional due time and overdue highlighting; stored locally, no network requests.
Read-only ICS calendar: paste a private iCal URL (Google/Outlook/Apple) to see the next 14 days, including recurring events. 30-minute cache; host access is requested only for that URL's domain when you add it, and released on delete.
No new static permissions.

v1.52 (June 2026)
Added "Backup & Restore" (in the General settings tab).
Export all settings, shortcuts, custom quotes, RSS subscriptions, and wallpapers (IndexedDB) to a single JSON file.
Restore on another device or after a reinstall (with a confirm prompt); wallpaper references are remapped automatically. No sign-in, no cloud.

v1.51 (June 2026)
introduces 12 official theme packs — download any with one click to instantly change your new-tab style. Each pack ships with 5 wallpapers (16:9) and a related quote set, you can also fully customized your own theme pack with your photos and quote set.

Also new: shortcut cards now support custom icons (upload your own image, stored offline) and drag-to-reorder.
The clock is fully repositionable (left / center / right) with three size options.
The live RSS ticker has moved to the top of the page for a cleaner layout.

v1.5 (June 2026)

Added Beauty Pack, the fourth official theme pack, featuring 6 romantic backgrounds and 100 curated love quotes. Available for one-click download from the Theme Packs tab.

Official theme pack descriptions now display in English when the UI language is set to English, instead of repeating the pack name.

Fixed several UI elements that were still showing Chinese text under the English locale, including the search bar, RSS feed input fields, and various button tooltips.

Optimized the wallpaper gallery in the settings drawer to load lightweight thumbnails instead of full-size images, resulting in faster panel load times.

Built-in wallpapers have been converted to JPG and recompressed, meaningfully reducing the overall extension size.
