About this extension
Foxfire – Digital Evidence Assistant for Your Browser
Scan. Verify. Seal. Track.
Foxfire is a browser extension designed to help users discover web resources, verify data integrity, create and manage digital evidence, manage verified identity information, and monitor evidence records directly from the browser.
Instead of switching between multiple tools, manually recording hashes, uploading files to different services, or managing evidence across separate systems, Foxfire brings essential evidence workflows together in a single browser Side Panel.
Smart Web Resource Scanning
Foxfire helps analyze the website you are currently visiting and discover technical resources that may be relevant to verification and evidence workflows.
Supported resource types include:
API endpoints
REST APIs
GraphQL
JSON
Fetch/XHR
External resources
Previously discovered or scanned resources
Failed scans requiring further review
Resources are organized into categories such as API, Scanned, External, and Failed, making it easier to understand where data originates and which technical resources a website is using.
Foxfire turns manual resource inspection into a structured workflow:
Discover → Scan → Classify → Review
Evidence – Centralized Evidence Management
The Evidence section provides a centralized workspace for reviewing and managing evidence recorded by Foxfire.
An evidence record may contain:
File or resource name
Evidence ID
SHA-256 hash
Registration timestamp
Verification status
OTS
PAdES
Identity Key
Ownership information
Additional verification data
Long hash values can be displayed in a compact format to keep the interface clean while still allowing the complete value to be accessed when needed.
Foxfire helps keep evidence records organized in one place instead of relying on scattered files, hashes, and manually maintained records.
Seal File – Create and Verify Evidence
The Seal File workflow is designed for working with local files and digital documents.
Select a file and Foxfire can analyze its contents, identify its type, generate a SHA-256 hash, and prepare it for the evidence workflow.
Supported file categories may include:
Original files
OTS files
PDF certificates or evidence records
Evidence packages
Related files
A typical workflow is:
Select File → Analyze → Identify → Generate Hash → Verify → Seal → Create Evidence
SHA-256 provides a digital fingerprint that can be used to compare data and identify changes between versions.
Pages – Monitor Claims and Evidence
Pages provides a centralized area for searching and monitoring public claims, evidence records, and related verification information.
Users can:
Search for evidence by name or related information
Filter results using advanced filters
Monitor recent claims
Review evidence status
View recorded ownership information
Track statuses such as Sealed and OTS
Receive real-time updates where supported
Access or initiate a complaint workflow when an issue requires review
The workflow is organized around:
Search → Filter → Review → Verify → Monitor → Act
Identity Key – Verified Identity Management
Foxfire provides an Identity Key for workflows where evidence needs to be associated with a verified legal identity.
Identity Key information may include:
Legal name
National ID, Citizen ID, or Passport information
Date of birth
Date of issue
Place of issue
Phone number
Address
Identity Key is intentionally separated from the Public Profile to distinguish legal identity information from information intended for public display.
When legal identity information changes, Foxfire supports a dedicated:
Re-verify → Key Rotation
workflow instead of simply modifying an active Identity Key.
Re-verify & Key Rotation
When identity information needs to be updated or identity documents need to be replaced, Foxfire supports a re-verification and key rotation workflow.
This can be used for:
Updating identity information
Replacing identification documents
Changing legal information
Re-verifying an identity
Creating a new Identity Key after verification
This approach helps maintain a clear distinction between different verified identity states.
Public Profile
The Public Profile is intended for information that can be displayed publicly, such as:
Display name
Organization
Role
Biography
Public Profile information can be updated independently without requiring the Identity Key re-verification process.
Real-Time Evidence Updates
Foxfire supports real-time evidence synchronization in areas where live updates are available.
Users do not need to continuously refresh the page to check for new information.
When supported data or evidence status changes, updates can appear directly within the Side Panel.
Complaints – Evidence Review Workflow
When an issue is discovered with an evidence record or claim, Foxfire provides access to the complaint workflow directly from the relevant details.
Users can review the available information, inspect the evidence record, and initiate the appropriate review process without leaving the current workflow.
Chrome Side Panel
Foxfire is designed around the Chrome Side Panel, allowing users to work with evidence while continuing to browse the web.
From the same Side Panel, users can:
Scan web resources
Inspect APIs
Review evidence
Generate hashes
Seal files
Monitor verification status
Manage Identity Keys
No separate administration window is required for the core workflow.
Settings
Foxfire provides configurable options for different browsing and evidence workflows, including:
Language
Theme
Scan depth
Real-time updates
External resource detection
Smart API detection
Compact display mode
Private network resource settings
One Workflow for the Evidence Lifecycle
Foxfire connects the key stages of a digital evidence workflow:
Web → Resource → File → Hash → Evidence → Identity → Verification
From discovering resources on a website to analyzing files, generating hashes, sealing data, creating evidence records, and monitoring verification status, Foxfire provides a structured workflow designed for traceability.
Complete Workflow
Discover → Scan → Review → Hash → Seal → Create Evidence → Verify → Monitor → Submit a Complaint When Needed
Built for Modern Digital Evidence Workflows
Foxfire brings together web resource discovery, file integrity verification, evidence management, identity management, and verification monitoring within a single browser experience.
The goal is simple:
Keep the evidence workflow connected, structured, and accessible without leaving the browser.
Important Notice
Foxfire is a tool designed to support digital evidence verification, management, and traceability workflows.
The legal validity or admissibility of any particular evidence record, signature, document, or identity information depends on its intended use, applicable laws and regulations, and the requirements of the relevant authorities or organizations.
