Why Yandex at all

How to add Yandex to Firefox

• How to add the Yandex search engine to Firefox. Install the extension and Yandex (Яндекс) appears in your list of search engines. There is no need to add Yandex search to Firefox by hand.

Firefox for Android does not let extensions add search engines. On a phone you add Yandex by hand, once — the extension shows you how and gives you the string to copy.

Privacy

• The extension requests no permissions and does not collect your data. Your query and suggestions go only to Yandex, exactly as when you search on its site.
• A welcome page opens after installation and after an update. There is no other background activity.

• The welcome page and the settings contain a labelled block, "Support the extension author", with partner links to Yandex services, including an offer with a bonus of up to 1100 ₽.
• Following them is optional and does not affect search. If you use one, the author receives a reward from Yandex at no cost to you.
