About this extension
Stop right-clicking "Show Controls" on every video.
Some pages play a video but hide the playback controls: no pause button, no seek bar, no volume, no fullscreen. This extension automatically turns on the browser's own native controls on HTML5 video elements, including videos that a page adds while you scroll.
HOW IT WORKS
• Open a page with a video and the controls are there. Nothing to click, nothing to set up.
• It uses the browser's built-in controls. It does not replace the site's player or add a playback engine of its own.
• Controls that a site provides itself are never touched.
YOU CHOOSE WHERE IT RUNS
• On all sites (default), except the sites on your list. Or only on the sites on your list.
• Each mode keeps its own list, and a base domain such as example.com also covers its subdomains.
• Changes apply right away to pages that are already open, with no reload.
LIGHT ON RESOURCES
• On a site where it is off, the extension does no work on the page.
• Where it is on, it only looks at newly added content, in small batches, and it keeps no background process running.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• No analytics and no tracking. The extension itself makes no network requests.
• Your site lists, autoplay choice, language and theme are stored locally in your browser.
• Open source under the GPLv3, so you can read exactly what it does.
ALSO INCLUDED
• Optional "Block autoplay", off by default: videos start paused and play when you press play.
• Light, dark or system theme.
• Interface in English and Brazilian Portuguese.
• Small fixes for 9GAG and Instagram, where overlays can cover the controls.
GOOD TO KNOW
• Some sites use custom players that hide or replace the native controls. The extension cannot help there.
• It is off by design on YouTube, Netflix, Vimeo, Dailymotion, Hulu, Twitch, Rumble, Facebook and TikTok.
• Browsers do not allow extensions on their own internal pages or on extension stores.
