This is a great add-on and should be part by default of next Firefox versions.
Mostly working fine and doing what it's supposed to do, but slow to start in Android (and with permanent log-outs) and somehow slow at writing. Easy to use, intuitive, great way to keep synced your notes between mobile and desktop browsing.
Great work from the old Test Pilot team.

So, at the moment Firefox has not notes or file sharing add-on or functionality.
Otherwise, if you use just your PC, it's a note taking sidebar extension, as advertised.
