I have just published version 2.1.0 that should address the bug in #3. With your use case in mind, I also added a button to clear out the word list (#1, #4, #5). I moved the check box to filter the word list next to the word list, which should be more accessible and intuitive (#2).
If there are areas/features of the filter that are confusing it might be worth taking some time to check out the wiki (https://github.com/richardfrost/AdvancedProfanityFilter/wiki). If after the update you still notice problems, don't hesitate to open an issue (https://github.com/richardfrost/AdvancedProfanityFilter/issues)

Hello,
I'm sorry that the filter doesn't meet your expectations. I'll reply to each of your points in order.
- I am open to suggestions on how to improve the flow of modifying words. If you want to bulk adjust the filter, the fastest way is to probably to use the Config tab in the options page. Clicking export will show you the current config, which you can adjust and then save with the import button.
- The words are censored by default, but that setting can be toggled in the main settings page -> General Settings -> Filter word list in Options. They are censored using the current filter method (censor, substitute, remove). This was at the request of several users (schools, parents, etc).
- This looks like a bug in the Exact match method, it works as expected in partial mode. I'll take a look at that and see if I can get that fixed.
- This seems a lot like bullet 1, and is achieved most easily by importing a config that someone else has made, or make your own and import it.
- This is by design, and likely won't change. The filter would be completely useless without any words.
I am happy to work on improving the extension when possible, and I will do what I can to take your suggestions into consideration. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience.

- if you did this for images too blocking any bad images even on facebook, you would have made the ultimate free profanity blocker on the net!
if you do. keep it free! and bankrupt the greedy porn blocker companies to the ground.
they sell the cure to a disease that should be free.開發者回應
張貼於 1 年前Thanks for sharing your experience with the extension. We would love to add support for blocking images, but that isn't something that is feasible at this point, but it would be something that might be possible in the future. - 評價 5 分,滿分 5 分來自 liroken646,1 年前Currently not working. Not even loading tbh (not even the /optionPage.html#/ page and such is loading)
i'm currently on firefox 128.0.3 but was already not working on the 128.0 earlier version
Edit: oh yeah it started working again. Dont know if it was an update or what 🤷♀️開發者回應

- Advanced Profanity Filter is an answer to an 'unrequested' prayer because I could never fathom that one day I'll be able to enjoy movies without hearing the language.
The filter is a delight and for the times when audio is muted for a long time, it doesn't bother me because I can read from the subtitles.
I love the option of adding additional words to the filter, wow! This has been more than a blessing. Thank you Richard!!! - 評價 4 分,滿分 5 分來自 Firefox 使用者 18291635,2 年前

張貼於 2 年前Thanks for your review @Oonix. Unfortunately at this time there isn't really a way to shorten mute times because the filter doesn't have access to precise enough timing information. Most of the time it only knows when the captions get added to the screen, not how long they'll be there, or when each word is said. I will be working on adding an algorithm to try and reduce muting time (with a possible decrease in muting effectiveness) in situations where the filter does have start and end times for a phrase, but I'm hoping it will be about 50% shorter on the mute times in a phrase.- 評價 5 分,滿分 5 分來自 Firefox 使用者 18164399,2 年前
