Last updated: August 2026
PrivaBlock is designed to provide privacy protection without collecting or selling user data.
PrivaBlock does not intentionally collect:
- Names
- Email addresses
- Account information
- Passwords
- Search history
- Browsing history
- Advertising profiles
- Personal identifiers
- Analytics data
- Usage telemetry
PrivaBlock does not require an account.
PrivaBlock may store the following information locally in Firefox:
- Extension settings
- Enabled and disabled filter lists
- Custom filter rules
- Custom filter list configuration
- Per-site protection settings
- Blocking statistics
- Logger data
- Filtering profile preferences
This information is stored using Firefox's extension storage mechanisms and is not intentionally transmitted to PrivaApp servers.
PrivaBlock can download third-party filter lists selected by the user or enabled by the extension's configuration.
These requests are sent directly to the configured filter-list provider.
PrivaApp does not control the privacy practices of third-party filter-list providers.
Users can disable individual filter lists from PrivaBlock's settings.
PrivaBlock processes web requests locally in Firefox to determine whether they should be blocked.
PrivaBlock does not intentionally upload the URLs of websites you visit to PrivaApp.
The built-in logger is local to the browser and is intended for debugging and transparency.
Blocking statistics are stored locally and are not sent to PrivaApp.
PrivaBlock may use Firefox's privacy mechanisms to reduce browser fingerprinting surfaces.
Fingerprinting protection can sometimes affect website compatibility.
If a user adds a custom filter list URL, Firefox will request that resource from the URL specified by the user.
The privacy practices of that external service are controlled by its operator.
Users should only add filter lists from sources they trust.
PrivaBlock does not include third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, tracking SDKs, or user profiling services.
Third-party filter-list providers are separate from PrivaBlock and are used to obtain filtering rules.
PrivaBlock does not sell, rent, or intentionally share user data with advertisers or data brokers.
PrivaBlock does not operate a user analytics system.
This privacy policy may be updated when PrivaBlock's functionality or data practices change.
Changes will be documented in the repository's version history.
