HyperFetch gizlilik ilkeleri
HyperFetch geliştiren: Tanumay
HyperFetch for Firefox is the companion to the HyperFetch desktop app (https://github.com/tanumay-deb/HyperFetch). It hands downloads to that app, which runs on your own computer.
What it sends, and where
- When you start a download with HyperFetch (the right-click menu, the on-page video button, "Show all downloadable links", or, if you turn capture on, a download you start in Firefox), the add-on sends the file's URL, the page it came from, a suggested file name, your browser's user-agent string and the cookies Firefox holds for that URL to the HyperFetch app at http://127.0.0.1:21456 (port 5000 for older app versions). 127.0.0.1 is your own computer: nothing is sent to the developer or to any third party.
- The cookies are what make downloads behind a login work. They go with that one download and are never stored by the add-on.
- To offer video quality choices, the add-on looks at the addresses and response headers of media requests (such as .m3u8 playlists) on the pages you visit, and shows what it finds on that page. To list the qualities it may fetch the playlist from the same site, or ask the local app to.
What it stores, in Firefox's local extension storage on your computer
- The pairing token you paste from the app, and your settings.
- If the app is closed when you click a download, that download's URL, file name and page for up to one hour, so it can be handed over once the app is running. Cookies are never stored.
What it does not do
- No analytics, telemetry, tracking or advertising. No accounts. No server of its own.
- The only page it opens by itself is a short feedback page (https://tanumay-deb.github.io/HyperFetch/uninstall.html), after you remove the add-on.
Removing the add-on deletes everything it stored.
