Introduction
Daily Task List ("we", "our", or "the extension") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our browser extension and web application handle your information.

Personal information (name, email, address, phone number)
Authentication credentials or passwords
Financial or payment information
Health information
Personal communications
Web browsing history
User activity or behavior tracking
Device identifiers or fingerprints

What We DO Store (Locally Only)
The following data is stored exclusively in your browser's local storage and never leaves your device:
Tasks: Your to-do items, including text, priority, deadlines, and completion status
Bookmarks: Your quick links and their URLs
Settings: Your preferences such as clock format, task view, theme, and customization options
Cached Data: Background images and favicon cache to improve performance
Important: All data is stored using Chrome's storage.sync API or browser local storage. This means your data syncs across your devices when you're signed into Chrome, but it never touches our servers. We have no access to your data.
Location Data
If you enable the weather widget, we use your approximate location to fetch local weather information:
How we get it: Through your browser's geolocation API (requires your permission) or IP-based location detection
What we do with it: Send coordinates to Open-Meteo API (a free, public weather service) to fetch weather data
What we don't do: Store, log, or transmit your location to our servers
Your control: Weather features are optional and can be disabled at any time
Third-Party Services
Open-Meteo API (Weather Data)
When you enable weather features, we fetch data from Open-Meteo, a free weather API:
No API key required
No user tracking or data collection
Requests are made directly from your browser
See Open-Meteo's Terms
BigDataCloud API (City Name Resolution)
To display your city name in the weather widget, we use BigDataCloud's free reverse geocoding service:
Only coordinates are sent (no personal data)
Returns city name only
No tracking or data retention
