Copy and paste hasn't changed in decades, and the real process is longer than most people give it credit for.

• Highlight what you want — click, drag, release.

None of that sounds like much on its own. Call it ten seconds when everything goes smoothly, more like twenty when you have to hunt for the right window or scroll around to find your spot. But that's only the cost of doing it once. Anyone who's ever put together a research summary, a report, or a set of study notes has run that exact five-step sequence dozens or hundreds of times in a single sitting.
