Mina recensioner

Omnibar

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Normally, I am quite happy with Omnibar, thus, the high rating.

However, a bug patch landing in the April 19, 2014 Nightly broke the search vs. select a link from the dropdown list functionality in the URL bar. When I type a keyword in the URL and then go to select a bookmark that shows in the dropdown list, I get a search on the keyword when I should be having the bookmark open instead. When I disable Omnibar, the link I click on opens as expected.

I do not see anything obvious show up in the browser console or error console.

Edited to add: I just tried in a profile with only Omnibar installed and the issue persists.

Remove Cookie for Google Account Chooser

Good Addon Rated 5 out of 5 stars

So far, so good. (I just installed the addon.)

I can sign in with the Stay Signed In box checked, yet when I sign out, I am signed out!

Too bad that Google fails to understand this simple concept. It is Password Managers that are supposed to handle multiple IDs to the same site.

Download Status Bar

What Should Have Been Integrated Into Firefox Rated 5 out of 5 stars

The download status pops up at the bottom of the browser. You can then right-click it to get various actions. That is one less click than what Firefox without DSB offers the user. Smart people know that fewer clicks are better.

Nightly Tester Tools

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Shouldn't the version be 3.1.7.1 instead of 3.1.5.1?

Stylish

Thanks & Info Regarding Status Bar Icon Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thanks for the update/new version.

FYI: To those looking for the Stylish Status Bar icon, there is a button available under Toolbar > Customize... Just add it from the dialog to wherever you want it on the Fx 4.0 Add-on Bar or elsewhere.

Bottom Error Console

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

The xpi file is there now. It combines very well with Console2, too.

Bottom Error Console

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

There appears to be a problem with the xpi file as in it may not be there. I get the download error when trying to install from the main page.

Compact Menu 2

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Very nice.

I do have a tip for anyone who also uses the Personal Menu extension (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3895). To hide the Menu Bar, you will need to go into Personal Menu's options/preferences, go to the Advanced tab and check the Hide Menus Toolbar.

Evidently, Personal Menu overrides the hide prefs in Compact Menu and Firefox.

Saved Password Editor

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

It seems to be OK now. I was successful in installing it in Minefield, so ir\t should it be OK in the others versions.

Save Image in Folder

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

For those looking for an update to Save Image In..., it is indeed NOT functionally compatible with Fx 3.6. Hopefully, it will be updated by Achim shortly. I think I speak for most of us when I say this is an important and valuable add-on that will be missed by us if it cannot be fixed so it will work with Fx 3.6 and beyond.

ColorfulTabs

Thanks Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Version 4.1 restores ColorfulTabs to my list of extensions. Version 4.0 was visually conflicting with Tab Mix Plus. I was glad that Shivanand Sharma was able to fix this. In the interim, I tried ChromaTabs Plus, but its approach of basing the tab color on the page's web site mean tabs from the same site were the same color. I have come to rely on ColorfulTabs use of random colors to quickly distinguish different tabs. BTW-I have been successful in using ColorfulTabs on current Trunk/Minefield/3.7pre nightly builds so while it is not "officially" compatible, the extension does work.

bug489729 (Disable detach and tear off tab)

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thank you for this extension. It has been terribly frustrating both for the undesired tab detachings I have experienced and that the devs could (would?) not provide the preference to disable this feature. Now I can disable tab detaching and use the tab context menu items that Tab Mix Plus provides to decide to detach a tab to a new window OR merge back into one window as I wish and not because I inadvertently trip the detaching routine.

ColorfulTabs

Revise "Acceptance" Process, Please Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I like your extension very much. I appreciate and understand an author's desire to protect their work. I provide the following as constructive criticism.

As a user who has over 40 extensions installed on my browsers--I have Firefox, Branch (Shiretoko) and Trunk (Minefield)--I am not going to go through the pain of visiting every single extension page on AMO to reinstall 40+ extension on those occasions when I need to build a new profile. I am able to do this by maintaining an archive copy of each extension xpi file on my computer. With the recent changes made to AMO, I have to go to the All Versions page to get to a link where I can archive a copy of an updated extension's xpi file.

The exception is for those extensions like ColorfulTabs where the user must step through an "acceptance" process before being able to install, let alone download a copy of the extension to my computer. Because of this "acceptance" process along with the fact that no link to a downloadable copy of the extension is available on the author's own site, users like me cannot save a copy to our computers.

This method is quite customer-unfriendly when combined with the fact that AMO implemented their changes without addressing customers like me who use a moderate to high number of extensions by not providing a means whereby users like me could go to one page under our AMO logins and have AMO install all our add-ons at once without having to visit each and every add-on page.

As a result, I will uninstall ColorfulTabs unless and until I can again download a copy of the extension's xpi file. I will seek out more user-friendly alternatives. And, if I do not find such an alternative, I will go back to what I had for many years, plain tabs and live my life!
