TorBox Cache Check is an unofficial Firefox extension. It checks links with TorBox when you ask it to.
What is sent to TorBox
Each check sends your TorBox API key and a download identifier to api.torbox.app over HTTPS. For web links, the identifier is an MD5 hash of the link. For magnets, it is the torrent info hash. The full link and any other selected text are not sent by the cache-check request. Hashing does not make a download identifier anonymous: TorBox uses it to identify the download.
TorBox also receives your IP address and normal connection information. TorBox processes these requests under its own policies. This extension does not control TorBox’s storage or retention of request data.
What stays in Firefox
Your API key is saved in local extension storage in this Firefox profile, not Firefox Sync. Use “Forget key” in the popup to remove it. Links and results are held temporarily while using the extension; it does not save a history of checks.
Clipboard and page access
The clipboard is read only when you click “Paste & check”. Context-menu checks use the link or text you selected. The extension does not scan pages or monitor your browsing history.
Other services
The extension has no analytics, advertising, or developer-operated data collection server. Cache checks go directly to TorBox.
