The extension processes the selected word and nearby text locally. It requests only the static dictionary data needed for a lookup and does not send the selected word, page URL, or surrounding page content.

Dictionary data is derived from Wiktionary using Wiktextract. Definitions are generally written in English because the source data comes from English Wiktionary.
