Windows Spotlight Sync Autor: firefox spotlight sync

Windows Spotlight Sync shows your current Windows Spotlight desktop wallpaper on
the Firefox New Tab page, homepage, and every new window, and keeps it in sync
automatically whenever Windows rotates to a new image.

FEATURES
• New Tab, homepage, and new-window background, all from one page
• Automatic updates — a small helper watches for wallpaper changes and pushes them
• Wallpaper history — browse and preview recent wallpapers (off / 5 / 10 / 20 / 50)
• Spotlight captions — title, location, and copyright when Windows provides them
• Clock (12/24-hour, optional seconds) and a search box (Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo)
• Shortcuts grid — your Firefox Top Sites plus tiles you add, with drag-to-reorder and pin-in-place
• Adjustable darkening and blur
• Settings and shortcuts are mirrored to Firefox Sync storage, so they survive updates

REQUIRES A ONE-TIME HELPER INSTALL
Firefox cannot read the Windows wallpaper on its own, so this add-on talks to a
tiny native helper over native messaging. The helper is a single Windows
PowerShell script with no third-party dependencies. Install it once from the
project page:

Without the helper the add-on installs fine but has no image to show.

PRIVACY
Your wallpaper never leaves your PC. The add-on has no host permissions and
contacts no web service. The only outbound requests the page makes are favicons
for custom shortcuts you add yourself. See the privacy policy for details.
