Data collected
The MOC Source extension does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. No account is required. No analytics, crash reporting, or telemetry is included.
Permissions and why they are required
storage
Used exclusively to save your in-extension preferences — your chosen price region, BrickLink store location filter, and buy-page filter toggles — using chrome.storage.sync. These preferences are synced across your own Chrome profiles via your Google account. No preference data is sent to MOC Source servers.
In a future version, the extension may store BrickLink authentication credentials locally (in chrome.storage.sync) to enable features such as automatic wanted list management. Any such credentials remain on your device and within your own Google account sync. MOC Source does not collect, receive, log, or have any access to your BrickLink credentials at any time.
Location / timezone
On first install, the extension reads your browser's timezone (Intl.DateTimeFormat().resolvedOptions().timeZone) to pre-select a sensible default price region — for example, defaulting to US pricing for a US timezone. This value is used solely to set an initial preference and is never transmitted to MOC Source or any third party. You can change or override the selected region at any time in the extension popup.
Host access: *.bricklink.com and store.bricklink.com
Required to inject price badge overlays and the "Set PAB" button onto BrickLink pages (wanted lists, buy page, store listings, and cart). The extension reads part numbers and colour IDs from the BrickLink page DOM to know which prices to look up. No BrickLink page data is sent anywhere.
Host access: api.moc-source.com
The extension fetches LEGO Pick a Brick and Bricks & Pieces pricing from the MOC Source API using the LEGO part number and colour ID of the part currently being displayed. The request contains no user identifiers — only the part number, colour ID, and locale code you have selected (e.g. en-us, de-de).
Our data collection policy (the short version)
MOC Source does not collect, store, or transmit personal data.
No analytics.
No telemetry.
No accounts.
No personal data collection.
The extension simply compares Pick a Brick pricing with BrickLink pages.
What that means
MOC Source does not collect your data. We do not want your data. We have no infrastructure to store your data, no business model that benefits from your data, and no interest whatsoever in your data. We are LEGO enthusiasts who built a tool to make buying plastic bricks slightly less painful — not a data company in disguise.
To be unambiguous for any jurisdiction that requires it: MOC Source, its operators, and its contributors hereby irrevocably disclaim any intention to collect, process, sell, share, rent, barter, trade, auction, gift, or otherwise make use of any personally identifiable information belonging to users of this extension, now or in the future, in this universe or any hypothetical parallel one.
If you somehow find evidence that we have collected your data, we would genuinely like to know, because it means something has gone very wrong and we want to fix it.
Third-party services
Pricing data is sourced by scraping the public LEGO Pick a Brick catalogue on the MOC Source server. The extension itself does not contact LEGO servers.
