Yes, they say that you can host your own server; but the server that you can download is barely functional and does less than a quarter of what the cloud server once did for free.

Useless. Apparently doesn't work at all unless you pay. Yeah, no thanks buddy.

"Some features may require payment" seems inaccurate, I have found no functionality remaining without paying since they updated it. There are others to move to that do the job.

It's a shame that we have to go back to version 9.x.x to keep using a feature that has always been free.

I imagine that not enough users are subscribing to Premium, and that the company needs to generate more revenue. After all, when the free version is already so good, it's difficult to convince people to pay for it.

So I'm not going to criticize that business decision or the subscription price. However, the extension's description should clearly state that a paid subscription is required and not "some feature need subscribtion". That would save people from downloading and installing an extension they can't actually use for free.

During the free trial, I had absolutely no complaints. I would have happily given it 5 stars! I had disabled all the AI features, statistics, synchronization, and custom dictionary options, and apart from a few very rare cases where the extension interfered with input fields on certain websites, everything worked perfectly.

I'm giving it 3/5 because the integration in version 9.x.x isn't quite as good as in the latest version, and because the extension's description fails to mention that a subscription is required.

With an accurate description, I would have given it 4/5.

LanguageTool is a good tool. Even in the age of AI. I want to write my own texts, in my own style, but I'm not a native English speaker; so LanguageTool helps me write correct English, while not losing my authenticity.

It's awful. For the last week, it has correctly found one mistake, but has shown hundreds of false positives. It doesn't like ellipsis (...) even when it is inside a quotation mark. It frequently flags quotation marks, claiming they are unpaired. Many common words are missing from its dictionary, e.g., "ReFS" and "recompressor".

It is fair to charge for your software, it is not fair to be intentionally obtuse about charging for your software after increasing the price 100%+

After enabling this plugin in Firefox, the console will display an error message. Ignoring unsupported entryTypes: longtask.

Like many, I appreciate this add-on. The basic functionality was free, although it had paid features. However, now the entire module is behind a subscription that's quite expensive for what it is (even with the trial period).
In short, the module is essentially a paid service hidden behind a trial period.

I really like this extension, while it was free, I could pay a small sum for it, but €20 a month is ridicolous, no way, uninstall.

"Enshittification" in its most glaring form. A policy shift from free service to a maddening "Basic" tier (which is essentially Premium, just temporarily).
This functionality should be integrated into Firefox’s AI features (running locally), just as was done with translation.
