LAITA integrates with a local AI model on your machine (via a straightforward Ollama setup) to provide:

• High Quality Live Suggestions: Continuous syntax, grammar, and style feedback as you write.
• Prompt-Based Transformations: Transform selected text using custom free-text prompts (e.g., "polish," "make formal," "translate"). Output can replace or be appended to the current selection.
• Broad Language Compatibility: Dependent on the model used; default options support 200+ languages.
• Hardware-Accelerated Speed: Performance relies on your GPU and model configuration. On a mid-range graphics card, text suggestions feel instantaneous. Paragraph transformations take a few seconds, while full pages process in roughly a minute.

Unless you explicitly configure a remote server or cloud model, all processing stays on your machine — no data ever leaves your computer.
