Session Share lets you capture, save, and share website login sessions (cookies) securely with friends — without sharing passwords.

HOW IT WORKS:

Open any logged-in website (Netflix, Spotify, GitHub, etc.)
Click the Session Share icon → "Save Session"
Your login is encrypted and saved locally
Click "Share" to send an encrypted token to your friend
Your friend pastes the token → instantly logged in!

SECURITY FIRST:

• AES-GCM-256 Encryption — All saved sessions encrypted with per-user master key
• PIN Protection — Optional 4-8 digit PIN (PBKDF2, 100k iterations)
• Token Expiry — Share tokens that expire in 1h, 24h, 7d, or never

Session Share is a browser extension that allows users to capture, save, and share website login cookies securely with friends.

Key technical points:
1. All session data is encrypted with AES-GCM-256 using a per-user master key stored locally in chrome.storage.local.
2. No data is collected, transmitted, or stored on any server. All data stays on the user's device.
3. The extension uses chrome.cookies API to read/write cookies (core functionality).
4. No minified, compiled, or obfuscated code is used. All source code is human-readable JavaScript.
5. External services used:
- Google Favicon Service (only domain name sent, to display website logos)
- api.qrserver.com (only when user explicitly clicks "Show QR Code" for sharing)
6. Optional PIN protection uses PBKDF2-SHA-256 with 100,000 iterations.
7. Shared tokens use ephemeral AES-GCM-256 keys with optional expiry (1h/24h/7d).
8. Cross-browser compatible: Chrome (Service Worker) + Firefox (Event Page).

The extension does NOT:
- Collect analytics or telemetry
- Track user behavior
- Send data to any analytics service
- Use third-party tracking scripts
- Require any payment or subscription
