PROXYDECK Browser Extension — Privacy Policy

SUMMARY
This extension does not collect, store or transmit your browsing history.
The addresses of the pages you visit never leave your browser.

WHAT IS STORED, LOCALLY, ON YOUR DEVICE
1. Your settings — interface language, light/dark theme, and whether the
on-site card appears automatically (browser storage.sync; if you use
Firefox Sync these few bytes travel within your own account, and we have
no access to them).
2. A cache of our public catalog data — provider scores and specifications
fetched from proxydeck.net, kept 6-12 hours so the extension does not
re-download the same public data on every page load.
3. The list of sites where you chose "Don't show on this site", with the
expiry of that choice.
All of it is deleted by the browser when you uninstall the extension.

WHAT IS SENT TO OUR SERVER
The extension contacts only proxydeck.net, and only with GET requests to
our public read-only catalog API:
/api/v1/providers-map the catalog map, no user parameters
/api/v1/provider/{slug} one provider's data, by its public slug
/api/v1/alternatives the top of the catalog
plus a "lang" parameter carrying your chosen interface language.
These requests contain no address of the page you are on, no user
identifier, no cookies and no credentials. Whether you opened a given
provider's website is determined locally, inside your browser, by matching
the hostname against a list that ships inside the extension.
As with any HTTP request, an API call technically carries your IP address
and User-Agent. We use them only to protect the API from abuse (rate
limiting keyed on a hashed IP) and in short-lived server logs. We do not
build user profiles from them.

OUTBOUND LINKS
Buttons lead to pages on proxydeck.net. The button that opens a provider's
website goes through our redirector /go/{slug}; at the moment of that
explicit click we record anonymised click statistics (hashed IP and
User-Agent, source "extension"). Some of these links are affiliate links:
if you subscribe with a provider, we may earn a commission. This never
affects the ratings.

WHAT WE NEVER DO
- We do not collect or transmit browsing history or page content.
- We do not run on all websites: the extension is active only on a static,
manifest-pinned list of proxy-service domains.
- We use no third-party analytics, tracking pixels or advertising SDKs.
- We do not sell or share data with third parties.
- We never ask for or store credentials.

PERMISSIONS
storage - the local settings and cache described above.
activeTab - when you open the toolbar popup yourself, the extension reads
the active tab's hostname locally to show the verdict for that
site. The hostname is never transmitted.
proxydeck.net - requests to our own API.
listed proxy-service domains - where the informational card is displayed.

YOUR CONTROL
The card can be disabled globally or per site inside the extension.
Uninstalling erases everything stored locally.
