Odoo Workbench is an unofficial developer extension for Odoo 15–20. It works on Odoo.com, Odoo.sh and self-hosted servers (after you click "Enable on this site").

Open the sidebar from the toolbar and it connects to the Odoo tab you are on, using your existing Odoo session. JSON-RPC calls go only to that tab's Odoo server. Nothing is sent to servers run by the extension author. No analytics, no data collection.

Requires Firefox 142 or newer.

FIELD BRIEF
Turn on Inspect and click any field on the page. You get its type, flags, module, SQL column, live value, dependencies and reverse dependencies, the views it appears in, a verified inherit XPath, ORM / Domain / XML / Python / XML-RPC snippets, SQL Desk, cURL, record export and snapshots.

COPY BUTTONS (optional)
Copy icons beside form labels, list headers and buttons: technical name, model.field, type, relation, conditions and inherit XPath. Alt+click any button to see its method, action xml_id and conditions without running it. The session strip shows the database, version, model, record, action and view xml_id.

MODEL ATLAS
Scan any model: fields with live record values, relations (outgoing and incoming), views, Studio customizations, automations, access rights and record rules. Export as CSV, JSON or Markdown.

RPC BENCH
Call the ORM from the panel. Templates are prefilled with the current record. Results show as JSON or a table, with open-record links, run history and saved recipes. An optional in-page terminal (off by default) offers read, search, count, xmlid, ref, debug and more.

PROFILER
Record an Odoo workflow and get a linked timeline: every click and input, with the RPCs, field changes, routes, dialogs, notifications, JS errors and Owl updates it caused. Inspect the state at any point, with optional synced screen video and screenshots. The Difference Engine compares two recordings and shows where they first diverge. Recordings stay in your browser and can be exported or imported.

AI ASSISTANT (optional)
Explain a field, model or the last RPC call, or write a domain from plain language. Engines: Chrome's built-in model, a local server (Ollama, LM Studio, llama.cpp, vLLM), your own API key (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, OpenRouter, Mistral, Groq), or your chatbot in a new tab. Prompts go only to the provider you choose. Record values stay out of prompts unless you tick the box. API keys are stored only in this browser.

MASK
Blur, scramble or redact customers, contacts, emails, phones, addresses, chatter and amounts on screen for demos. Custom fields can be added by name or wildcard. Stored data is never changed. Off by default.

ODOO & ODOO.SH
Shortcuts to technical screens (models, views, actions, scheduled actions, parameters, security), App Store search for your version, Odoo.sh favorites, project tab titles, log downloads and branch → task links.

OWL DEVTOOLS
A DevTools panel for browsing the Owl component tree, props and state.

SAFETY
Dev Mode is off by default. Write, unlink, module install / upgrade and other destructive actions are blocked until you enable it, and ask for confirmation when it is on.
