The Log-Service extension is a specialized browser tool designed to efficiently sync the Log-Service Dashboards with a git storage.

Tailored specifically for the Log-Service users working with OpenSearch Dashboards (Kibana).
This extension enables seamless synchronization with the backup storage.

Developed by Worldline Switzerland, Frontoffice Biel for the Log-Service, it caters to power users who need to keep Dashboards, Searches and Visualisation for long term usage and Observability essentials.

Upon installation, the extension offers a sleek, modern popup interface where users can input or review crucial parameters like Object Type, Object ID (such as dashboard IDs), GitLab Base URL, and Project ID.

The extension has an auto-detection feature that reads relevant IDs from supported dashboard URLs.

All configuration data, including URLs and project identifiers, are securely saved in browser local storage, ensuring persistent settings across sessions. When ready, users simply click the Trigger button to start the sync.

This extension leverages GitLab API v4 and HTTPS fetch calls to maintain high security and reliability. Advanced URL pattern recognition enables it to extract dashboard and visualization identifiers from recognized analytics pages, ensuring precision in targeting the correct pipelines. How It Works:
1. Install the GitLab Pipeline Trigger extension and pin it to your browser toolbar for convenient access.
2. Open a supported dashboard or analytics page (e.g., Kibana or OpenSearch Dashboards); the extension auto-detects the Object Type and Object ID from the URL.
3. Click the extension icon to open the popup where the detected parameters are pre-filled; modify if necessary to match your target pipeline.
4. Access the settings panel to enter and save your GitLab Base URL and Project ID, which are securely stored for future use.
5. Click the Trigger button to initiate the GitLab pipeline; the extension automatically fetches a CSRF token and submits the pipeline trigger request via the GitLab API.
6. Monitor the popup’s real-time status updates indicating whether the trigger was successful or if any errors occurred, allowing immediate troubleshooting.
7. Adjust settings or retry triggering pipelines at any time; stored settings ensure a seamless experience without needing repeated configuration.
