Clikr turns your phone into a wireless laser pointer, clicker and drawing tool for slide decks that run in your browser, such as Google Slides or PowerPoint for the web. Rule of thumb: if it's a web-based deck, yes. The tested tools are listed at clikr.app. Hold the button and point to move a laser dot across the screen. Swipe to change slides from anywhere in the room.

How it works
The extension runs in Firefox on the presenting computer. The other half is a web page you open on your phone from a link or the QR code; nothing to install there, and you can add it to your home screen. Set up once: click the Clikr icon, scan the QR code, then hold to point. The two connect over an encrypted peer-to-peer connection.

What it does not do
It controls decks that run in a browser tab, not native desktop presentation apps that have no browser version, and a PDF open in the browser's built-in viewer is not reliably supported. When your deck runs in a native app, a hardware remote is the better choice.

Your data
- Your pointer movements, taps, and swipes go from your phone to your computer over an encrypted peer-to-peer connection. They never reach our servers.
- To set up that connection, the two devices exchange connection details (including network addresses) through our signaling server on Google Firebase. When your networks do not allow a direct connection, the encrypted traffic is relayed through Metered, a relay provider that cannot read it. As with any peer-to-peer connection, these services see your devices' IP addresses.
- Optional, asked on first use: reading slide content. With your permission, the extension reads your position in the deck, whether a video on the page is playing, and, for Pro speaker notes and slide preview, the notes and a small picture of the next slide. This goes only to your paired phone, over the same encrypted connection. Decline, and the basic clicker still works. You can change this later with "Change data access" in the extension.

• Connect without scanning (Pro, off until you turn it on): the extension stores a random installation code and your Clikr account on your computer, and keeps a small pairing record on our server so your phone can find it. Once you have used it, the extension also tells connecting phones its browser name and operating system (for example "Firefox" and "Linux"), so your phone can label the computer in its list of paired devices. In Firefox this is sent only while you allow technical and interaction data for Clikr.
• The extension contains no analytics or tracking. When you first install it, it opens a welcome page on clikr.app; like the rest of our website, that page uses cookieless Vercel Analytics and counts one "extension installed" event.
